Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

What does this verse tell us?

Faith is essential in our relationship with God. It is not enough to simply believe in God’s existence, but we must also trust in His goodness and seek Him with a sincere heart. Without faith, we cannot please God or experience the fullness of His blessings.

How can we apply this message to our lives?

We must develop a deep and genuine faith in God, trusting in His sovereignty and goodness even when we cannot see the path ahead. This includes consistent prayer, reading the Bible, and surrendering our will to God’s plan.

We need to actively seek God with our whole hearts, pursuing a deeper relationship with Him through worship, fellowship, and serving others. This means stepping out of our comfort zone and trusting God to work through us for the sake of His kingdom.

We also need to remember that God rewards those who diligently seek him.

Our faith may be tested and trials may come, but we know that God will always be faithful to His promises!

Philippians 2:3 says, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”

This verse reminds us to put the needs of others before what we want and seek humility in everything we do.

What does this mean for our lives?

We must examine our hearts and identify areas in which we may be prone to selfishness and pride.

We can then intentionally make choices that prioritize the well-being of others, such as serving in our communities, offering forgiveness, and showing kindness to those around us.

We also need to look to Jesus as the perfect example of true humility and selflessness.

He gave up His own life for the sake of humanity, demonstrating the greatest love and sacrifice!

By following His example and seeking to live a life of humble service, we can bring glory to God and impact the lives of those around us in a positive way.

Lord, help us value others above ourselves and live a life of humility and selflessness. Help us follow this commandment in all that we do.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.”

This verse from 1 Corinthians 13:4 is widely regarded as a definition of what love should look like, right?

Love should be patient, kind, humble, and free from envy and boasting.

As Christians, we are called to love one another just as Christ loved us. This means that we must strive to live our lives with patience and kindness towards others, even when it is difficult. We must strive to put others before ourselves.

It’s time, today, to examine our own hearts and ask ourselves if we are truly living a life of love?

Are we patient and kind with others, or do we become easily frustrated and angry?

Do we ever celebrate the successes of others?

When we see the accomplishments of others, do we feel envious or do we feel genuine happiness for them?

Lord, help us examine our own hearts and strive to live a life of love towards others. Help us reflect Your love to those around us and help us tell everyone about the healing and hope You alone bring to this broken world. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!

Some people have never sat in their car and cried before walking into work because they do not know how they are going to survive another month. Some people have never stood in a grocery store adding things up in their head while praying the card does not decline.

But some of us have.

And that is why the story of the five loaves and two fish does not feel like a children’s Bible story to me. Because there is something deeply human about standing in front of a need that is bigger than what you have.

Thousands of hungry people.
Five loaves.
Two fish.

I imagine the disciples looking around at the crowd, then back at Jesus, almost frustrated. Because when you are already overwhelmed, small provision can feel offensive.
“Lord…this is all we have.”

Have you ever whispered that to God?
This is all I have.
This is all the energy I have left.
This is all the money left in the account.

Jesus started with what looked painfully insufficient. Because the miracle was never hiding in the amount. It was hiding in the surrender.

The bread was not enough while they held onto it. It only became enough when it was placed into the hands of Jesus.

And maybe that is the part of our lives we struggle with most. We keep trying to carry things that are crushing us.
So we worry. And worry. And worry.

We lie awake rehearsing disasters that have not even happened yet. We carry tomorrow’s grief before tomorrow even arrives. We panic over outcomes we cannot control. And all of it slowly steals joy from our lives.

Meanwhile Jesus says over and over…
“Bring it to Me.”

Bring the tired version.
The scared version.
The version trying not to cry while opening another bill.

Bring Him THAT.

Because Jesus has always done His best work with people who reached the end of themselves.

And can we talk about what happened next?
Jesus broke the bread.
That part hurts, right?

Because sometimes life breaks people.
Sometimes grief breaks us.
And yet somehow, in the Kingdom of God, broken things are still useful.
