Every Sunday, a sweet choir member brings me a wildflower on her walk to our Music Room on the BUMFS campus. She has been with us in Burlington longer than any other resident that I can remember and I’ve recently tried to prepare myself for the realization that she will soon be moving on. This girl loves life, even though hers has been difficult. She has enjoyed music classes so much! She has blossomed into a pretty teenager and today she told me she’ll be leaving in a week or so. I really had to hold in the tears….but I want nothing more than for her to find a family that will love her for who she is and help her to grow and make a good life. She has had a roller coaster of a childhood and she deserves a great future. Please pray that she and all the kids that pass through Hope Lane in Burlington find a better life ahead. I cringe when I see everyday kids in our world outside of Burlington, who are spoiled and don’t appreciate all they have.
Having a loving family is at the top of the wish list for BUMFS kids/teens and the hurt is real. We will send her off with a Rootbeer Float party next Sunday and so many hugs she will feel the love. 💖

Meet my newest and youngest Piano Student, Miss Hannah! She is so focused and excited to learn! She lives on a mini farm and loves the outdoors and her animals, so she was very excited when we came to Old Mcdonald had a song in her lesson book yesterday! She smiled big! Go Hannah! She is practicing well and retaining all she has
learned in her 3 lessons so far! I love how she dresses up for Piano Lessons, or maybe she is just a mini-model everyday! That’s how life should be, live each day your best…wear a smile and go accomplish much!

Sounds of Summer Recital featuring 6 Studio C Students! Everyone played beautifully and shared a nice variety of songs! We even had a Flute/Piano Duet with Nicole as Flutist. Awnye sang Pompei while accompanying herself on Piano! Grant played the very special song composed in 1846, Simple Gifts. Emma thrilled everyone with her advanced pieces as a 10 year student, and hopefully inspired our newer student’s to continue practicing and developing their keyboard skills. I love teaching these great young people! For the two smaller ones on the front row, Sailor and Mia, it was their very first recital and they played with enthusiasm! They did fantastic and didn’t seem to mind getting up in front of people and performing! I always stress to my students how important it is to share music with others, and the residents of The Commons in Cumberland really enjoyed the concert and complemented my students so much! Thanks to everyone for attending!
Music will last a lifetime!

Hannah started piano tonight. She is six years old, and when I pulled up in her driveway, she and her mom were standing at the end of their sidewalk ready to greet me. Hannah had a pretty handmade card for me!She was so excited for Piano and did a fantastic job for her first lesson! I hope she stays this excited about playing the piano for all of her life! Good job Hannah!!🎹🎶😊

It’s been awhile since I welcomed my new students. Mia has a beautiful and unique piano and is loving lessons. Annie started a few months ago and is doing well! She likes playing the scales! Della and her cute cat are loving piano lessons too and excited about our next recital! Hannah will be starting lessons next week!

I am so proud of this young lady. She started hopping on the piano bench at about 3yrs old when her older sister took lessons. She officially began a couple of years after that and she has done so well! She just completed her first lesson book! She is very talented!🥰🎹Yay Brooke!

I have had the joy of meeting so many outstanding young people through teaching Piano, and also Music at BUMFS. These are youth who strive for excellence, and are just good in all ways! I want to congratulate Taylor, Quinn, Addison, Jake, Brooke, and Julee. May God Bless your future with great success and happiness! I am so proud to have had you as a student and happy for those days around the Piano with you, even for a short time.
Happy Graduation Day!
