Melancholy view for me. I recently lost most of my 5,000 sq ft garden and the herbs that were growing since 2020 in this bed. The teeny green you see are new plantings. I'm praying they get large enough to harvest some before frost. I've been harvesting and drying a lot of my own herbs since '20 and there's no going back! 🌱😀

I am planting/sowing fall vegetables, English peas, cabbage, carrots, lettuce, mustard greens, spinach, turnips, etc.

"Adventures of Gus" 🐾🦴

Gus here guys... This is the reverse of what happens when I help in my garden. A good bath, wrapped in my favorite towel (my version of Superman) and a treat. This is after I've had zoomies, got muddy as heck, played with two frogs, had a picnic in the garden and had a leisurely swim.

Mom's cleaning the door where I shook all over it (first pic). I'm taking a nap. 🐾🦴💤😴 🤣

Gus's garden is coming along nicely. I'm picking cucumbers, blackberries, squash, a few peppers and peas not to mention harvesting herbs. The beans are blooming and the tomatoes are green. 😁

Gus has been inside quite a bit this past week. He seems to have a preference lately for muddy ditches instead of his clean pool. I was afraid I would wash the hair off him. 🐾😂

Gus's Garden '25. Slowly but surely... Yes there is nutsedge 😡 in the middle section to the right. I'll have to pull it by hand because there are a lot of perennial/medicinal flowers sown there.

Trying to decide about brick borders and gravel paths but leaning that way. Those are just bricks laying there. The pic doesn't show the other end where I laid a few.

Gus is my garden/ flower pot/ pressure washing buddy. He's my shadow. 🐕🦴🐾

He found a ground hog in the field near the garden. I didn't allow him to interact but a sec but boy he wanted to. I wish I had pics. 🤣

As a young girl, I loved to cook. I suffered a mild case of “envy” over a friend’s Easy Bake Oven. 🤣 As a teenager, I have fond memories of making brownies, pies from family recipes, soup and cornbread or pot roast while my mom worked. Time flies... A treasured friend and coworker gave me a cheesecake mix and springform pan for Christmas. I didn’t bake the cake but kept the pan. Years later. I searched for a cheesecake recipe for my son’s birthday... based on ingredients I had on hand. I dug out the old springform pan...

With a little imagination and to my huge surprise a great cheesecake was born and rekindled my passion for baking. CeLina Craig Sumara
