"Adventures of Gus" 🦴🐾

Gus's adventures this morning included a car ride to the vet (which he 🥰💓), Walmart, Lowe's, etc, etc. He loves going anywhere and is a well behaved traveler. He met numerous new friends. Yes, I cover the seat with an old sheet. This afternoon we were back at it, outside until dark, prepping for the freeze.

#4 was when I was loading groceries. I couldn't resist. 🥰😜

I've been stringing peppers (Cayenne & Tabasco) and prepping herbs for drying at night. 😀 Some are in my pantry, some I hung from my pot rack.

My first string of cayenne peppers were strung and given to me by BB Douglas. 😘🙏

Side note: BB's popcorn was the best when I was a kid! Ed makes it the old fashioned way too. ❤️

We're hard at it again but in the yard, not the garden... Yes, finally! Work on the house, then back surgery last year, pushed these plans waayy back but I'm trying hard to get it done this fall.

Yes, Gus is leashed to the "parked" 4 wheeler today to prevent him getting in the concrete being poured for the greenhouse behind the house (thank you Momma 👼❤️). I unhooked him when we drove to be safe. He had plenty of length to get down but really likes chillin on his perch, eating Milkbone Spooky Biscuits, watching me work. 🤣 😂

Gus and I are not so patiently waiting for cooler weather. He has an ear infection but was sweet enough to pose for a few pics on the porch and with his yearly pumpkin and corn. 🎃🌽

Hopefully a doc visit tomorrow will have him back to his playful self, trying to steal more pumpkins and gourds from the porch. One is never enough! 🤣

Hi guys, Gus here. Thank goodness it's cooled off so I can go to the garden with mom. I sniffed of everything and had a dip in my pool (thank you for saving it Mrs. Judy). Now... I'm laying on the 4-wheeler in the shade, in the breeze, chilling and snacking on a 🦴 and watching mom. I decided to play with her phone. My first selfie! 🤩 🤣🐾🦴

As a young girl, I loved to cook. I suffered a mild case of “envy” over a friend’s Easy Bake Oven. 🤣 As a teenager, I have fond memories of making brownies, pies from family recipes, soup and cornbread or pot roast while my mom worked. Time flies... A treasured friend and coworker gave me a cheesecake mix and springform pan for Christmas. I didn’t bake the cake but kept the pan. Years later. I searched for a cheesecake recipe for my son’s birthday... based on ingredients I had on hand. I dug out the old springform pan...

With a little imagination and to my huge surprise a great cheesecake was born and rekindled my passion for baking. CeLina Craig Sumara
