Update: The fire on the south rim is estimated to be 425 acres, as of 3:30 p.m. according to Gunnison Regional 911. Dry, windy conditions persist this afternoon.

New: Black Canyon National Park has been closed and campgrounds are being evacuated. Two lightning-caused fires are burning on both the north and south canyon rim, according to the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention.
