The Johnsonburg Chamber of Commerce is holding the Town Wide Yard Sale this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be a Sidewalk Sale on Market St. at the same time. Look for the blue and gold Yard Sale signs around Johnsonburg to find where yard sales are being held.

Colleen Brown, Senior Junction member and volunteer provided Lemon Extract as the May Spice of the Month. Lemon extract is a potent alcohol based flavoring providing a bright, concentrated lemon taste without the acidity or liquid volume of lemon juice. Over 200 fishermen attended The St. Leo's School Fishing Derby on Saturday and Sunday. In addition to the 200 adults, 60 children particiapted in the derby. With 250 tagged fish to catch, and prize money ranging from $20 to $1,500, the derby can be a rewarding experience. See the May 12 edition of The Ridgway Record for more details.

Kylie Mader, Coordinator with the Community Heart and Soul program was the guest speaker at the May 5, 2026 Ridgway Rotary Club meeting. The Community Heart and Soul program is a nationally recognized program which fosters Community Economic Programs in Ridgway and Johnsonburg Boroughs through imagining, planning, connections and actions. This program also involves the Code Enforcement officer and is currently working on public access to the Clarion River and development of Ridgway Mills property. Pictured with Kylie is Rotarian Gloria Udarbe and Rotarian Bea Terbovich. The Rotary Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. at Fox's Pizza. New and prospective members are welcome.

Jayden Gardner was introduced as the May Student of the Month at the May 5, 2026 meeting of the Ridgway Rotary Club. Jayden is a Senior at Ridgway Area High School and the daughter of Jacob and Ashley Gardner. Her activities include Volleyball, Prom Court and working part time. Her achievements include Offensive MVP for Volleyball and 4 years of High Honor Roll. Her Community Service includes volunteering with Ridgeway High School Volleyball Boosters, Special Olympics, and at the Church of Christ. Jayden's future plans involve attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania majoring in nursing and eventually working in oncology. Pictured with Jayden are her parents Jacob and Ashley Gardner and Rotarian Gloria Udarbe.
