I (20F) have a brother Jake (31). Jake has a girlfriend Macy (28F) and they have an 8 month old baby girl together. Since Macy gave birth, she’s been living with my mum and I. She has a lot of health issues that were amplified by pregnancy and labour so we’ve been taking care of her. Jake still lives in their apartment on his own and comes over every so often. He is putting his all into work right now to progress his career. He is already doing quite well from what I can tell and they’re not financially struggling. He owns their apartment and can afford to give them most things they desire. But he says he isn’t where he wants to be with his career yet. Meanwhile, Macy is depressed and struggling physically too. She’s on several medications and she barely leaves the house. My mum and I do 90% of the childcare because Macy isn’t in the state to be doing much although she tries her best and feels very guilty for how much we’ve had to do to take care of my niece. My mum and I are happy to help and Macy is kind of like a sister to me now. We’re willing to do anything for her. But seeing her so lonely and unhappy is heartbreaking. My brother came over last night to see his daughter for literally 20 minutes then he stood up to leave. I followed him out and asked where he always is and why he isn’t here with his wife who is clearly struggling and taking care of HIS daughter. I(32m)was invited to a wedding of an acquaintance of mine named Molly a few months ago. I’m not super close to her or her fiancé, but I love weddings so I said yeah I’ll go. Now, the relevant part here is that I have a very good career and make an excellent living. Plus I love giving gifts and splurging a bit. So, I spoke with Molly and her fiancé and promised them a custom made gaming pc since they game together. They were very happy, and thanked me a lot . The price of the pc would come out to be a little over $1500, not counting the monitor I was willing to throw in. A two months ago, Molly told me that unfortunately I had to be uninvited to the wedding as part of a cost cutting measure. She apologized, but assured me it was only because of cost. I was upset, but let it go. Then I found out a week or so later from a mutual acquaintance that was still going that Molly told her she had to cut people because she needed the invites for some of the groom’s family who decided to come. I was pi**ed, so I decided to not give Molly the PC I promised. Molly’s wedding happened two weeks ago and from what I can tell, it was a nice ceremony. Afterward she actually texted me asking if we can talk about when the pc would arrive. I asked if we could call, she said yes. When my husband and I first got married, I did most of the cooking. I was also working less hours. Then we had kids and I was a stay-at-home mom, so it just made sense. However, once our kids reached elementary age, I re-entered the workforce. This time, my workload doubled. I tried at first to cook every night, prep in advance, etc. but at the end of the day, I was exhausted. I shared this with my husband and he agreed to help with the cooking and we began to split it. As our kids got older and my workload increased, my husband’s decreased. His field has taken a nose dive and he works a lot less hours than he used to. We’ve been fine financially because of my workload. We eventually agreed that he would do all of the cooking to offset me doing all the cleaning and a majority of the stuff with the kids. It's not that I never cook, I will on nights my husband has to work late or if he's not feeling well. But most of the time, he is cooking. For Christmas, my husband and I don’t typically do presents. We save the money to either vacation (in non-COVID times) or to do repairs that we need around the house. This year was no different. I did end up getting him a toolbox because he desperately needed a new one. He got me something too and I wasn’t expecting anything big…but he got me a cookbook. I don’t cook anymore. It felt a little pointed. I pretended to love it as he went on and on about how it’s been advertised on the news and is great. It’s been nearly a month since Christmas and the cookbook has gone unused by me....

A karen neighbor of mine complained that my roommate and I park in the same parking spot, which is right next to the walk way up to the apartment building. Both of us ride motorcycle and both motorcycles belong to me, but my roommate rides one to get to work. She accused me of using my second bike to get a defacto reserved a parking spot when nobody in the complex has one, and said that what I'm doing is not fair and it's cheating. I said "Ok, I'll stop parking both my bikes in one spot." She seemed satisfied with that and left. An hour later I had all 7 of my motorcycles, 5 of them from inside the garage I rent but it's half way across the apartment complex, sitting in front of the apartment building taking up every prime parking space infront of the walk way to to my hall in the building. She went to straight to the management to complain. The management came out and knocked on my door. "We can't have you using up every parking space" "Let me guess, Karen complained?" "Yes." "Yeah she told me I'm not allowed to have two bikes in one parking space to reserve a space. I'm not doing it to reserve a space. Both my roommate and I ride both of the bikes we park in that one space, all the bikes belong to me but I gave the keys to one of them to my roommate to ride for commuting to work. The other one is my bike for going where ever I need. We park both in one spot to be nice and conserve parking spaces so other people have somewhere to park.
