No time like a holiday break to get back to work! I just finished planning this piece, and I can say that it’s definitely the most original and unique piece for wind ensemble I have ever worked on. The story is outlined, the dice are ready, and it is ready to get started! Combining two of my favorite things (concert band and D&D), this will be a piece anyone can enjoy. The Lantern’s Last Roll will be something you will not want to miss out on.

The Lantern’s Last Roll plunges listeners into a world where shadows breathe, corridors twist, and fate hangs by a dim and wavering flame. Conceived as a dark fantasy for wind ensemble, the piece follows a solitary adventurer whose lantern—cracked, sputtering, and nearly spent—is the only shield against the encroaching unknown. Whether salvation or doom awaits is never fully revealed; instead, the music offers a single truth: even the faintest light fights fiercely against the dark.

Yes, there are dice you have to roll WHILE performing the piece. Yes, the outcome that you hear will depend on what is rolled mid-performance. Yes, there will be a narrator/dungeon master. I am beyond thrilled to get this project rolling. Coming soon to a concert hall near you. This will be a piece that all band lovers and D&D fans alike will love!

After a long hiatus, we’re back and better than ever!!

Over the next few weeks, you’ll see some new concert band arrangements/transcriptions of some well-known classical composers such as Liszt, Puccini, Mahler, just to name a few. This will expand our concert band repertoire, which is exciting!

DTMA is proud to announce that the final touches are being put on our first Concert Band work!! While we wait for the other movements to be finished (final editing marks, video editing, etc.), we would like to share with you Movement 2 from our "New World" Wind Symphony.

The "Largo" movement of this arrangement opens up with the brass playing the hauntingly beautiful chords that lead up to the beautiful oboe solo. This arrangement is shorter than the original piece, but the message and meaning is still there.

This movement can be performed on its own, or as a whole (when the "New World" Wind Symphony is finished). Like what you hear and see? Contact DTMA today to have your ensemble perform this piece!!

Be on the lookout for the release of this arrangement of Antonín Dvorák's Symphony No. 9 (the "New World" Symphony).

Titled the "New World" Wind Symphony, this piece will feature all 4 movements of the original symphony (which turns 130 this year). This unique arrangement will keep the original feeling of the symphony while not being as long. This piece of music is the biggest thing that DTMA has done so far, and it is near and dear to my heart.

When finished, you will be able to perform all 4 movements together (as intended) OR perform them on their own. What a better way to celebrate the 130th anniversary of Symphony No. 9 than to perform any of the 4 movements. Look to our page and website (work in progress) for the release of the "New World" Wind Symphony. Stay tuned!!
