For attorneys Ashley Carlile and Jennifer Side, that meant creating a practice where exceptional legal representation could exist alongside compassion, integrity, and a genuine commitment to the people they serve.

Just one year after opening Carlile & Side, P.C. in Canton, the women-owned firm is already putting that vision into practice.

Together, Ashley and Jennifer bring more than 30 years of combined legal experience, but the firm they’re building is about more than experience in the courtroom. It’s about making sure clients navigating some of life’s most difficult moments feel heard, supported, and empowered along the way.

Meet the man on our September cover.

Robert Roddie came to Georgia from Glasgow at 19 with a soccer scholarship and no idea that the move would eventually lead to a 16-year career shaping young athletes right here in Cherokee County.

Today, as Girls Director of Coaching and Director of Operations for Georgia Impact, Robert has helped take the club to new heights, including a 2026 Southeast Conference title, its first South Region championship, and a trip to the WPSL National Championships.

But the wins only tell part of the story.

For Robert, coaching is about preparing players for whatever comes next. And off the field, that same commitment to mentorship, family and community continues.

In our September Style Issue, we’re celebrating the kind of style that has less to do with what you wear and more to do with how you show up.

At just 10 years old, Cole Burris already knows what it feels like to stand over a putt with a championship on the line. ⛳️

This summer, the Woodstock native sank the winning putt on the third hole of a sudden-death playoff to become the 10-Under champion at the 77th Press Thornton Future Masters, one of junior golf’s most storied tournaments.

But the moment on the eighth green was years in the making.

From picking up his first club at six to spending the past year determined to improve on his 2025 finish, Cole has built his young golf career on practice, patience and a whole lot of drive.

Now, he has a Future Masters title to show for it and even bigger dreams ahead.

The newly renovated Hickory Flat Public Library is so much more than shelves of books. Think community gathering spaces, private meeting rooms, technology, programs for kids and teens, resources for small business owners, and plenty of places to simply sit, learn, work or connect.

And that’s really the story of the Sequoyah Regional Library. As Cherokee County has grown, our libraries have grown right along with it.

From story time and STEM workshops to Wi-Fi hotspots, Chromebooks, 3D printers and even Experience Passes, there may be a lot more waiting behind those library doors than you realize.

Some wins have nothing to do with the scoreboard. 🏆

Cherokee County student-athletes Jaxon Pfansteil and Addie Kate Beck are being recognized for something even bigger than their accomplishments in sports: the way they lead, persevere, serve others, and show up for the people around them.

This year, both were named recipients of the Do Amazing Things Award, presented by Aylo Health in partnership with Positive Athlete, each receiving a $1,000 college scholarship.

From overcoming setbacks on the field and court to serving their schools and communities, Jaxon and Addie Kate are proof that the next generation of leaders is already making an impact right here in Cherokee County.

And that is something worth celebrating. 👏

What if the secret to enjoying motherhood more is simply… lowering the bar? 🙌

Cherokee County mom and content creator Jessi Meeks has built a community of more than 200,000 followers by showing motherhood exactly as it is.

The mismatched outfits. The messy house. The forgotten shoes. And yes, handing your kids a bowl of rice and calling it a sensory bin. 😂

Her message to moms is refreshingly simple:

“Peel away all the things that don't matter. What you're left with is the stuff that actually does.”

In our latest issue, Jessi gets real about motherhood, the pressure to make everything picture-perfect, raising three kids in a digital world, and why sometimes the best thing we can do is give ourselves permission to lower the bar.
