There’s Power in Proximity

By keeping our network of surgical practices close to home, MAX stays grounded in what really matters, the communities we serve.

No shade, but while other platforms might be fine outsourcing halfway across the country, that’s not our style.

Focused in and on the Northeast, MAX truly believes in the power in proximity, and we don’t just say that, we live it. Staying local means we understand the grind of this work, the unique challenges, and the real opportunities we face every day, because we’re right here with you, just down the street if you ever need us.

That local presence means faster support, stronger collaboration, and a connection that runs deep. That’s how we do things at MAX.

If you’re at the beach, like I am, and the weather isn’t cooperating, take a moment and check out this exposure and ligation of an impacted maxillary central incisor due to the presence of a supernumerary mesidens palatal to tooth 8

If you’re not at the beach…watch it anyway. You’ll like it.

MAX is a different kind of support platform, built by surgeons, for surgeons.

Created to protect, grow, and elevate what today’s top oral and maxillofacial surgeons value most: autonomy, innovation, and legacy.

Home to industry leaders and trailblazers, MAX brings together an elite network of surgical talent where collaboration, connection, and surgeon-led leadership drive the future of the specialty.

Elite surgeons. Shared vision. One powerful network.

A little potpourri of dental materials if you have a couple of minutes. I’m usually an allograft guy tbh, but in this case…

Some bovine in the sinus and some autogenous the sockets. Oh, and some PRF for good measure.

Treat YOUR SELF!

That’s exactly what I did after residency and my first “real job”…when I bought this human skull from Maxilla & Mandible - unfortunately no longer a thing.

At the time it felt completely ridiculous and completely necessary.
Years later, she still sits behind my desk. I look out for her, she looks out for me. Mutual respect. Mutual admiration. All Love. 💀🦷🩸

Sometimes, when you plan for an extraction/graft, the opportunity to immediately place a presents itself.

Watch for a few little pearls of wisdom throughout the procedure. And wait to see what I sutured with!

Most surgeons post amazing outcomes.
From day one, for me it’s been the process that matters most.

And people connected with that. The reality of building a career in oral surgery.

This clip is under 2 minutes, but if you’re a student, young surgeon, entrepreneur, or honestly anyone trying to build something meaningful… stay to the end. The last part matters most.

Grateful every day for the opportunity to educate, mentor, and hopefully build a bridge for the people coming behind me. 🦷

One thing I hear from patients all the time is this:
They feel like healthcare has turned into a hustle. They walk into an office expecting to hear what’s wrong and how much it’s going to cost. That mindset creates a wall before the conversation even starts.

Dr. Thompson, founder of Wellness Dentistry Network made a point that stuck with me.
Dentists aren’t really asking patients to “pay a fee.” We’re asking them to make an investment in their health. That’s a completely different conversation. And when dentists frame care around
health instead of transactions, trust changes overnight.

I talked about this with Doug Thompson, Scott Manning, and Jackie Cullen in a roundtable on where private practice dentistry is heading.
