Unpopular opinion: planning isn’t just for the meticulous 💥

Whenever I work with a client, my goal is to always create a content plan & then dive into writing captions, creating graphics, recording reels.

Although planning isn’t the fun part, just putting together “random” reels & carousel posts won’t get you anywhere either.

Your time on social media should be well spent, not a waste of your time.

Being prepared to work with a social media agency is just as important as turning the alarm on in your shop before leaving for the day!

A few things that you need before hiring *any* social media agency ⬇️
💫 A business model that works
💫 Clear & crisp images to get started with
💫 Solid branding
💫 Social media accounts

It is also good to know that you understand that it is still YOUR business – as much as a social media agency *should* have your business' best interests at heart, you need to ensure that you are providing what you need to, giving it your best shot & keeping in contact with your agency 💕

If you feel you're ready to outsource your social media to an agency that truly cares about your biz, message me & let's chat 🙋🏻‍♀️

Our goal when working with our clients is to take as much of the social media burden off your shoulders as you'll allow us 🙋🏻‍♀️

We are in your DMs talking to customers & leads, replying to comments to entice conversation & connecting with any new followers who come your way.

When a conversation is warmed up, we send you a screenshot to see how you want to move forward with that particular convo.

It's as easy as that!

The best part? You can continue doing what you do best while we keep your social media hot🔥

You opened your local business, now what? 🤔

USE SOCIAL MEDIA!

Social media is a free tool that you can use to ⬇️
🤩 Build authority in your local area
🤩 Create a digital community (who then comes into your shop)
🤩 Create connections with other local business owners
🤩 Reach surrounding areas that would have been impossible otherwise
🤩 Connect with local influencers to get the word out

How do you do this? Post engaging content. Engage with followers new & old. Use hashtags to your advantage.

Doing these 5 things is all you need to help grow your local business using social media! Let's not make it super difficult 💕

You can't carbon copy your first child when you're looking to have another 😉

And the same goes for posting on Instagram & Facebook – your first child (the IG post) shouldn’t be carbon copied onto Facebook (your second child).

I can’t even begin to describe a new client’s page before we start working together – there are hashtags EVERYWHERE 🤬

Why? Because they tapped the “post to Facebook also” button when posting to Instagram.

Oh – and don’t remind me of the CTA “link in bio” on Facebook 😤

Listen to me now ⬇️
🌟 You can (and should) add a link to your Facebook post
🌟 Hashtags aren’t used as widely on Facebook, so if you must, add a few, but you don’t need 30
🌟 Carousel posts also don’t have the same effect on Facebook since Facebook can separate the images on your audience’s feed

Please SAVE this post so you always have a reminder of what NOT to do when posting to both Facebook & Instagram.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk 🙋🏻‍♀️

Imagine trying to bake chicken in a stove that isn't on? 😤

The chicken won’t cook – simple as that.

That’s basically what it is like when local businesses don’t connect their digital & in-person worlds.

You have a following that loves to come into your business, but do they even know you have an Instagram account?

This thought process can be seen in both directions

Think of your shop/restaurant/salon/studio as the stove & your Instagram account as the piece of chicken – you have to “turn on” your business to help “cook” your Instagram account.

Think of your Instagram account as the stove & your shop/restaurant/salon/studio as the piece of chicken – you have to “turn on” your Instagram account to help “cook” your business.

Let one help grow the other – why not?

I started going to a new nail salon a few months back and when I was paying, the girl literally had me pull up their Instagram to give them a follow.

Not to say that you have to be that aggressive, but now is the time to brainstorm some ways ⬇️
💰 To help bring your Instagram following into your business
💰 To have those you come into your shop/restaurant/salon/studio to follow you on social media
💰 To incentivize your employees to be vocal about your social media accounts to those who walk into your business
💰 To show your employees how they can (subtly) use their own social media to help grow their clientele & your business

Feeling a little lost on how to start? Send me a message & let’s chat 🙋🏻‍♀️

Instagram isn't just pretty pictures and fun reels transitions 😉

And anyone who thinks that will fail on the platform. It’s that simple.

What you want to do is use ALL of the tools that Instagram gives you!
⚡️ Add keywords to your bio & name
⚡️ Use Alt Text to describe your photos
⚡️ Include a location tag to all posts
⚡️ Use a variety of the story stickers that IG provides
⚡️ Go “live” to connect with your audience
⚡️ Take advantage of “viral” reel audio & ideas

This list can honestly go on and on, but this is a great place to get you started. This combination of ideas will help increase reach & engagement – and challenge you a bit to brainstorm fun content ideas!

PS: The ‘gram LOVES when you use their features like story stickers & reels 🤩

What combination of IG tools do you use?

The social media tools I can't live without 🤩

In the five years that I have been in business, I have tested out countless tools trying to find the simplest group of tools that works for me.

After trial and error using many different editing apps, schedulers, cloud services and more – I finally have my go-to social media tools – and I am sharing them with you!

🌟 Lensa App 🌟
This is a smartphone-only app that I use to edit all photography that I post to my clients' (and my own) accounts. It has a "magic" button that has become my one-stop-shop for editing pictures/

🌟 Later 🌟
I have used countless schedulers for Instagram, but always come crawling back to Later. It is easy to use, autopublishes feed posts, keeps track of analytics & so much more.

🌟 Canva 🌟
All I will say is that paying for CanvaPro is one of the best business investments I have made. The stock imagery & background remover alone are worth it.

🌟 Google Drive 🌟
I have used other cloud storage services, but Google Drive has worked the best for me – on a functionality standpoint and a cost standpoint.

Your voice is mine!

When working with clients, I never expect the first batch of posts (we do 2 weeks at a time) to be perfect. In essence we are still getting to know each other and no relationship is perfect from the beginning.

However, as the weeks progress, my goal is for there to be little to no edits from the client. And generally by the second and third post batches, I get an "a-okay" from the client.

And working with Jacinta was a perfect example of that. The first batch at a couple of minor edits & after that there were NO edits whatsoever from her end.

Why is that my goal? Making your voice my own means that you will spend less time reviewing content & more time in your zone of genius. And this is exactly why I do what I do.

I create a social media content strategy that brings you quality leads so you have the security of financial consistency without having to do much of anything on your part.

And your brand's voice is one of the biggest parts of that social media content strategy.

If you've been looking to outsource your social media presence, send me a message & let's chat.

Have you ever tried a foot mask?

I have. The first time I tried one was in the beginning of quarantine last year when I could no longer get pedicures. The way they work is that you open each "plastic sock" and put your foot in it. They stay on for at least 60 minutes and basically marinate your feet with this coating. The packaging says that within 5 or so days, your feet will peel.

Well, the first time I tried it, I was incredibly skeptical and couldn't imagine this delayed reaction that was supposed to happen. 🧐

I was wrong.

3 days later, my feet were peeling. A lot. It was everywhere.

After a few days, my feet were the softest they had ever been. And I have gotten some very fancy pedicures – none of them compared.

I ended up doing one more foot mask before salons opened back up here in NJ and haven't done one since. Until a couple of weeks ago, when I decided it was time again.

Now, of course, I am 100% prepared with what to expect and I know that it works.

So, you're probably wondering why I decided to post something about my feet and dead skin (definitely not very a"peel"ing), but I promise it makes sense.

I am always preaching to clients that organic social media is not an overnight success. Yes, there are small successes along the way, but growing organically is not a one and done process.

Similar to a foot mask. There is no instant gratification. It takes time. But it is 100% worth it in the end.

I will leave you with this – purchase a foot mask & while your feet are soaking, let's hop on a discovery call! https://www.virtuallyrebecca.com/contact

It may sound cliche, but I truly treat my clients' business as my own. 💯

As a business owner, I know what it feels like to invest in your business. The excitement of making a business move coupled with the fear that it might not work out. 😉

I have worked with clients in the wellness, finance, fashion, e-comm and publishing industries and each client is different. Their business is unique. Their goals vary.

And I continuously work diligently to not only ensure that their voice is on brand, but also to continuously test different methods to get the best ROI for my clients.

It is because of the mindset of my clients' businesses being my own, that I have worked with some of the same clients since I founded Virtually, Rebecca almost five years ago.

If you are looking to invest in social media marketing for your business, send me a message. The Virtually, Rebecca family always loves to welcome new cousins 💕

Keep it light (you can thank me later) 😎

I know that the last year has not been easy for so many of us, so "keeping it light" may be a far away thought.

However, it has been through this last year that I have truly learned the importance of keeping things light.

When I don't sweat the "small" things and do my best to live in the moment as opposed to thinking about the next few weeks, I am generally in my best headspace.

I also do my best to enjoy each day to the fullest, no matter what is on my plate (there are definitely some tasks that I enjoy more than others).

My calls with my assistant are light & sometimes humorous.

I generally have Beyoncé or my favorite Flashback 2000s playlist playing in the background while I work.

I try to have fun while I'm in content creation mode. In fact, my clients' content is generally more engaging when I allow myself to have more fun creating it.

All in all, even on my toughest days, I try to always keep it light. And if you saw my post from earlier this week, you know that it isn't always that easy.

I challenge you to focus on just one way you can make your day feel a bit lighter. See how that makes you feel and then move from there. ⬇

Just what I need to see on days where I feel overwhelm 🤗

I founded Virtually, Rebecca to help learn the value that social media can have for their business.

And then when I receive testimonials like this one, it makes my "why" very real.

When I read that I was the smartest thing he's done for his business, I knew I made it.

Now, I ask YOU: Are you ready to make your smartest business move?

If so, send me a message & let's connect. I want to help make your 2021 a year that is blown out of the water 💕
