It's raining here today so I could only do interior stuff. I removed all of the overspray from the seat frames and glass. Installed the rear seat and panels. Installed all of the window clips. Got the driver's area put back together. I also moved all of the parts and things I need to completely finish into the back of the bus. I think I will do some other stuff to it tomorrow morning and then Friday I need to take it on a road test and for fuel

I had to remove the kick panel to get to the horn wiring. I did not like it silver so it is now black. Original color from the factory was an off tan but I've never been able to find anything close to it in a spray can. I have one that is new. I should take it to the paint shop and get a color match to get regular paint for it. It was the same color as the rubber hinge cover for the number two door

I didn't plan on spending 3 hours figuring out the wiring for the headlights but it is what it is. These were converted from second gen to 4th gen and needed some rewiring. Now all of the lights on 6342 work for the exterior except for the AC cover three marker lights. I have to figure out why there is no power getting up there

Here is last week progress report on 6342. I replaced all of the coolant lines on the engine and transmission assembly, heater core assembly and defroster. Every connection is now new silicone hose. New rear leveling valves installed, new sealco relay valve for the brakes and I'm waiting on the new rear brake lines. Hopefully pick them up on Monday. Engine and transmission assembly have been steam cleaned. The engine compartment has been completely repainted back to factory spec. Engine and transmission also got a fresh coat of Alpine green. This next couple of days I really need to get this project wrapped up. I'm hoping by Christmas it will be completely operational and ready for the next phase. I still need to do the new rear airbags. What is on 6342 now have not been changed since 1999 when I did them last. At that point it will have all new front and rear suspension, engine / transmission, complete exterior rehab and interior repaint

I finished installing all the new silicone coolant hoses on 6342 this morning. Now I just have to fix all of the leaks. You can never take this much of any type of system apart without having issues. With all new silicone hoses, I will not have to worry about this stuff again as long as I live. Tomorrow I hope to finish with the leaks and start installing the new engine and transmission wire looms

Started installing all of the new silicone hoses for the cooling system. I did the hardest one first to get it out of the way. That is the large one that goes from the bottom of the radiator up to the water pump and into the heating compartment. 6342 will have all new silicone coolant hoses. There really isn't that many. Whatever is on the engine and transmission, there is two rubber connectors in the heating compartment and two more for the defroster. Other than that everything is a copper tube

I painted the firewall and bulkhead on 6342 this morning. I had enough time to do the Alpine green for the engine also. Tomorrow I need to do black for the engine cradle, trans cooler and radiator shroud and cover. I also need to paint the generator and air compressor. As soon as that is done I can start putting all the new hoses and fuel lines on it.

The regional Transit service steam cleaner is still waiting for parts. I don't want to get behind so I brought out the regional Transit pressure washer. I had to pressure wash it a few times using some very strong degreaser but it will be ready to paint tomorrow. I will do the firewall first back to factory silver. Engine will be Alpine green. Engine cradle and radiator exterior will be black along with the oil bath air filter canisters. Everything else will be whatever color it's supposed to be. Hopefully tomorrow I can get at least the firewall painted and the engine painted Alpine green. As soon as everything is painted I can go ahead and install the new wiring looms and silicone hoses. I noticed the main positive wire going from the body to the starter is also bad. It had a rubber hose covering it. Thank you Riverside Transit. Hopefully by the end of next week it will be operational

I installed the new leveling valves on the rear of 6342 this morning. I also changed over to the sealco relay valve. I need to build a airline for the brake stop switch as this one is way too long. I also need to pick up new brake lines for it on Monday. The air ride seems to hold and there is no leaks so now I can move on to the next thing. After I finish steam cleaning and painting the engine compartment I need to get it back on flat ground and remove the rear wheels. Everything needs to be steam cleaned as it has years of grease and dirt and grime on it.

I have new brake canisters for 6342 on the rear but I have to wait until I remove the tires to install them.
