Operation You Are Enough

Operation You Are Enough We all need a reminder sometimes that we are enough despite what the world around us might say.

Life can be hard sometimes, especially when comparing yourself to the seemingly perfect lives of others around you. Feeling of inadequacy and failure at seemingly mundane things can weigh you down until the little things threaten to pull you under. It was during a time I was struggling with those feelings that I started to make these bookmarks in the hope that if I wrote something enough times I w

ould start to believe it was true and applied to me. Now with more bookmarks than I need I decided that there are people everywhere that need a little reminder that they are enough too. Not entirely sure what I'll be doing with them, but for now I plan on placing them in the Little Free Libraries that are popping up all over, or even mail a few to someone I think could use a boost. So if you find one drop a picture of where you found it, make sure to use . Keep it for yourself or pass it on to someone else who needs a little reminder. Feel free to PM or shoot us an email at [email protected] with quote suggestions or ideas on where to place them next!

For February’s Conservice Cares, I prepped fabric (washed, ironed and cut) for nine dresses for Little Dresses for Africa and fully sewed one dress. Thankfully I finished the one dress before cutting the other eight as after the dress was done I realized I’d misread the pattern and made it too small. But, I learned from that one and was able to complete the other eight dresses correctly.

I hadn’t prepared for February’s project like I had for January, and to avoid hitting any snags with my March project, I took the time to get everything ready. By the time I was ready to do my 2 hours of Conservice Cares a couple weeks ago, I had all the pieces cut out for the bread bags, and had the tag sewed in place for each one. Between my 2+ hours on a Friday, and some time the following Sunday and Monday, I was able to complete 25 bead bags for Beads of Courage. I still have labels and cards for another 25 bags, so I’ll work on those over the next several months so I can send all 50 in at one time.

Last week I was able to do my two hours of service for work and finished 35 washcloth soap sacks to go with the 6 I crocheted earlier in the month. I hope to crochet a few more to meet my goal of 50 soap sacks, and get more bars of soap to fill them before I get the box in the mail.

If you are looking for an easy service project for yourself, your family, youth group or whatever, S.A.C.K: Supporting A Community with Kindness would be perfect. The completed soap sacks can be donated to the organization or to your local food pantry or homeless shelter. So checkout

While this group will be donated to S.A.C.K. I plan on reaching out to some local food pantries and make some more to donate locally.

Mahatma Gandhi said "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”, and this is something I have found to be true. Whenever I find myself struggling and feeling overwhelmed, taking some time to do something for someone else has helped me to take a step back and reset my focus.

Thankfully, each month I have the opportunity to do 2 hours of service through my work. The last several years I’ve made medical play dolls for Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake, paracord lanyards for Operation Gratitude, ornaments for Operation Ornament, and indexed records for Archives.gov

For 2026 I have decided to focus my 2 hours (plus many of my own off the clock hours) on a different organization each month:

Jan - Sewing Soap Sacks for S.A.C.K
Feb - Sewing dresses for Little Dresses for Africa
Mar - Sewing bags for Beads of Courage
April - Sewing bears for Dolls of Hope
May - Sewing stuffies for Little Lambs Foundation
Jun - TBD for Soldiers’ Angels
July - Making pocket hugs and color journals for Crayons to Classrooms
Aug - TBD for Huntsman Cancer Institute
Sep - Making christmas ornaments for Operation Ornament
Oct - Sewing hats for Sassy Caps
Nov - Coloring pictures for Color A Smile
Dec - Crochet squares for Project Chemo Crochet

Find some way to serve others this year whether it be helping in your community, making items to help those in need, even just picking up a piece of trash you see in the parking lot.

Sending love to the ones who are quietly carrying more than they ever let on.

To the ones holding it together when it feels heavy.

To the ones grieving, missing, worrying, and hoping in silence.

To the ones who feel lonely, unsupported, drained, or stretched thin.

To the caregivers, the providers, the ones stressing over bills while still showing up with love.

You are seen.
You matter.
And you are not alone,
even on the days it feels
like you are. 🤍🤍🤍🤍
