A Jolly Holiday with You ☂️🎠🪁🌷

On this day in Disney history, “Mary Poppins” premiered in 1964! This movie holds a special place in my heart, as this scene and song have followed me since birth. My mother had me under the belief “It’s A Jolly Holiday with Mary” was truly about me! 😅

I was excited to see try something different with this art piece. I wanted to feel as if we stepped inside Bert’s chalk drawings. I hope you like it! 🦢🎨

I made this birthday illustration for my dear friend, Tony! We’ve spent a lot of time collecting and preserving vintage Sleeping Beauty books, vinyl records, and paper dolls. It was only a matter of time that I put all that research to good use.
This artwork was inspired by Walt Whitman and Little Golden Books. ✨💖💚💙✨

Happy birthday Disneyland! I wish I was there to celebrate with you 🥳✨

Here’s a tribute I threw together at the last minute. It’s heavily inspired by Mary Blair and 1960s Disneyland. I had to throw in my favorite iteration of Mickey with his giant head. Bring him back!! Of course, Mickey is being escorted by a Disneyland Plaid. 🥰

Also, I rarely draw the backside of the castle, so this hurt my brain a little. Swipe through for more including Minnie and my mood board.

Lastly, thank you to all the lovely cast members who make Disney worthwhile!

I’m sharing a peek into my imagination with Figment, Dreamfinder, and the 1982 EPCOT Center pals. Please Disney I’m begging you to bring back these costumes and Dreamfinder while we’re at it!
This is a throwback to art I did in 2021 and I couldn’t be happier with my progress as an illustrator. I cannot wait to see where my art will be in the years to come. “Why, imagination can take us over the rainbow and to worlds beyond.”

As a Gemini, I couldn’t pass up this prompt! I wanted something funky and psychedelic for this one and I took a lot of inspiration from 1970s zodiac and astrology art.

There’s only a few days left of and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to squeeze in any more art before the end. Regardless, I’m happy I drew some mermaids this month!

VOYAGE OF THE LITTLE MERMAID ✨🐚🪸🦀🐠

It’s Mermay and I had to pay tribute to my foundation. Voyage of the Little Mermaid, I loved you and you raised me. From the waterfall curtains and misty laser effects, I lived in a fantasy where mermaids were real and Ursula grew larger with each viewing. I had even asked my parents if we could bring Ariel home to live in our bathtub. 😅
And though the show saw plenty of changes throughout the years, it always brought me comfort. While I was a cast member, I would sometimes watch it twice a day whenever I visited DHS. The anticipation while standing in that sailor’s ship full of curiosities queue felt the same as it did from my youth.

There’s no way I could sum up my love for this show and what it meant to me. This new iteration sure has some big fins to fill. Thank you for letting us be Part of Your World. 💜🌊

Happy birthday and Earth Day to Disney’s Animal Kingdom!! I couldn’t pick just one aspect of the park, so I did it all! There is SO much to look at in this piece, so please take your time to admire the details.
Believe it or not, there’s even more I wish I could have added like DiVine, Rafiki’s Planet Watch, and my favorite, Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade (RIP). I am especially in love with Rivers of Light, and though the show is no longer running, I had to pay tribute.
In hindsight, I wish I had created individual tributes to each of these lands, but I hope you enjoy this naturey tree trunk-inspired collage nonetheless.

I’m currently working on some wild (hint hint) art, so in the meantime, please enjoy this doodle of Ariel I did last month.
Love the idea of Ariel constantly collecting things for her hair while out for a swim. 😅

Also, these lyrics are from The Little Mermaid: Songs from the Sea, which happened to be one of my favorite cassettes growing up. I miss the days when Disney would give us additional lore through music, books, and shows. Hbu?

Hope you don’t mind a little doodle? Here’s a little redraw of Princess Serenity. The older sketch is from 2021, and it just goes to show how much I have changed over the years. Patience and practice lead to growth! And I’m sure in the future I will redraw this again with a completely different approach. Isn’t that exciting?

I am also due for my annual rewatch of Sailor Moon. However, I am trying to get my wife to watch Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon with me, and that can only mean one thing: more inspo. Have any of you watched PGSM and felt every emotion imaginable?? I truly love it. 😅😭💖✨
