Judge Caroline Shepherd is Wasting Tax payer money in delaying case.
On 1/20/20, Wilbert Chambers case was brought in front of Judge Shepherd on 2 counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.
On April 16, 2021, the motion was brought in front of the judge to Motion to Dismiss On Stand Your Ground. After the hearing the judge denied the motion and she stated, "she was looking for trial cases and here it is". She provided no grounds or law for denying the motion. Until October, where she stated she gave full credit to the prosecutors even though the defendant also testified.
The case prolonged with status check and the judges denying motion to reveal key evidence and hostile manner toward the defendant attorney.
In June 2022, the prosecutor finally submitted the CSI photos to the defendant's Attorney, which confirmed that self-defense. The Prosecutor tried to resolve the case with a plea and both attorneys tried to force with threats of increasing the charge to attempt second degree, Mr. Chambers agreed to take the plea. The plea was for probation. The judge didn't not accept the plea moving to trial. The prosecutor still increases the charges.
Trial Started September 2, 2022.
During trial, the Judge engaged in additional misconduct and counsel the prosecutors’ side on questions to asked to skew the case in the prosecutor’s favor.
The Judge also was hostile to any family and friends that was in support of the defendant and kicked all the defendant family and friends out of the court room for 2 days of trial. Only people in support of the prosecutor or court employees were allowed in, as the detectives would ask them to leave, on command of Judge Shepherd.
The jury found Chambers not guilty on 1 count of Attempt Second Degree Murder and guilty on 1 lesser of aggravated assault included charge.
Mr. Chambers was remanded immediately and awaits the PSI with a tentative date 11/30/22 for sentencing. Once the PSI report came in then an earlier date should have been granted. No date was given, even though requested by Defendant Attorney Jaime Aird. The PSI report also recommended probation.
On 11/29/22 the date for status check was moved to zoom 12/16, instead of sentencing. Still no date for sentencing while Mr. Chambers is held in custody.
Judge Shepherd is biased and has shown prejudice in Wilbert Chambers Case. She has a clear Hostile Manner towards the defendant and the defendant family and friends.
In additional, the Judge was helping the prosecutors during the Trial. Finally, even now once the PSI report, which is recommending probation the judge is deliberately delaying sentencing, as to delay appeal on this case.
All clear signs of misconduct, bias and prejudice which warrants this report.
Judge Shepherd is personally invested in this case because she was wrong for not granting Chambers stand your ground motion. Therefore, she helped the prosecutors to get a conviction, now is delaying the sentencing with status check, and wasting more of our taxpayers’ money prolonging the case almost 3 years, just awaiting sentence and to delay the appeal process.
I am asking that you reach out on this case with Judge Shepherd, so that Mr. Chambers can be sentenced.
