UPDATE 12:50 p.m.: The body of a 15-year-old boy has been recovered from the river. Preliminarily, this appears to have been an accidental drowning.

First responders from the Roanoke Police Department and the Roanoke FireEMS Department are currently searching for a missing teenage swimmer at Piedmont Park. Multiple resources from neighboring jurisdictions are en route. Expect a heavy first responder presence in and around the river as the search continues. The initial call came in at 10:39 a.m.
