I’m starting to think this character actually suits me.

I like music, people, creativity, good talk, freedom, being outside the box, and getting along with all kinds of people—all flavors.

I wont change. I promise I’ll still be rebellious, fearless, allergic to BS, and I’ll still question everything.

I know my posts aren’t always light or cheerful.

They’re bold because they’re honest.

The problem isn’t that the truth is too harsh. The problem is that too many people are afraid to say it. We soften it, avoid it, or pretend it doesn’t exist because it’s uncomfortable.

I see it every day in real estate.

People ignore foundation cracks because they don’t want to deal with them. They hide water damage, delay difficult conversations, overprice homes because they don’t want to hear the market has changed, or skip due diligence hoping the problem will somehow disappear.

It doesn’t.

The truth always shows up. The only question is whether you face it early… or pay for it later.

That’s true in real estate.
That’s true in business.
That’s true in relationships.
That’s true in life.

I’d rather have an uncomfortable conversation today than watch someone suffer the consequences tomorrow.

Sometimes you just need to stop and acknowledge the people who show up for you.

My youngest daughter has been one of those people for me. Through some really hard days, some messy days, and all the regular life in between, she has stayed close, made me laugh, and loved me through it all.

I know being my daughter isn’t always easy 😂, but I hope you know how much your presence in my life means to me. I see you. I appreciate you. And I am so incredibly grateful for the relationship we have.

I love you more than you know. ❤️

WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO DO FOR PERSONAL GAIN?

We talk a lot about toxic bosses and bad management.

But we don’t talk enough about the teammate who helps it happen.

The coworker who sees an opportunity for personal gain and suddenly forgets who supported them.

The contractor who thinks telling management what they want to hear might secure the next contract.

The person who stays quiet when they know something isn’t right because speaking up might cost them something.

And, even worse, the person willing to twist a story, exaggerate a situation, or help destroy someone else’s reputation because they believe there might be something in it for them.

Careers can be damaged by that.

Reputations can be destroyed.

Families can lose income, security, health benefits, homes, and the life they spent decades building.

That is not office gossip.

That is someone’s actual life.

And here’s the part I keep thinking about:

Those same teammates, coworkers, contractors, managers, and executives are also mothers and fathers.

They go home and teach their children to tell the truth.

To stand up for what is right.

To treat people fairly.

To have integrity.

To never bully someone.

To never lie just to get ahead.

But children learn from what we do, not just from what we tell them.

So what are we actually teaching them when we benefit from someone else being pushed down?

What are we teaching them when we stay silent because the truth is inconvenient?

What are we teaching them when personal gain becomes more important than another human being?

A title doesn’t define your character.

A promotion doesn’t define your character.

A contract renewal doesn’t define your character.

What you are willing to do to another person to get those things does.

And eventually, every one of us has to live with the person we chose to be when doing the right thing came with a price.
