A local business owner approached the city and asked for permission to build a new sign that would not just represent BSA Troop 620 and 919, but Pack 620 and the Girl Scout troop that uses the building. With the city’s permission, the sign was constructed and powder coated, so it stands out at night. The sign was installed with Scouts from Troop 620, Troop 919, and Pack 620. As well as former Scouts and Eagle Scouts from Troop 620. (PHOTO COURTESY OF STEVEN SMITH)

An appreciation reception was held for P. O. Marvin Bert.
There was a great turnout. The NJROTC program at Peach
County High School was decommissioned after 23 years.
From “day one” in 2000 of the NJROTC Program P.O. Bert
has served the PCHS students as an outstanding example
of “service to other”. Over 100 past and present cadets and
families came to express their appreciation to him. It was
held at the American Legion in Fort Valley.

Kay Road Elementary 1st grade students had fun on their trip to Dickey Farms. They planted seeds and picked strawberries and learned how they grow. They learned about the life cycle of a bee and how they help pollination. To top it off, they had ice cream and tasted raw honey. What a fun day!
