A housing development group is looking for areas in Robinson where it can build 30 homes in the next few years.

Bill Luchini and Greg Loeffler of Capstone Development spoke to the Robinson City Council this week about plans for rehabilitating parts of the city by building starter homes.

The goal is to take advantage of Robinson’s residential TIF zones, which will allow Capstone to build new homes at a savings which will be passed on to buyers.

The Crawford County Airport celebrated its grand reopening with local residents during a free event May 30, just over three years after the facility was destroyed by a tornado.

During the day, guests could tour the new 3.8-million terminal, enjoy a free meal and check out vintage planes that had flown in for the occasion.

Crawford County again posted a small increase in unemployment figures in March.

According to the Illinois Department of Employment Security, 4.1% of the county’s workforce was jobless during the month. This was unchanged from February but up from 3.2% in March 2025.

The Robinson Lady Maroons finished eighth overall in the state among the qualified 178 of 265 assigned Class 1A girls track and field teams in Illinois.

Coach Sydney Beard shared that the eighth-place finish capped off an impressive season that included sectional and conference championships, along with team titles at the Shelbyville Invitational, Sam Bennett Invitational, Cumberland Invitational and Newton Invitational.
