Browns Investments LOLC in Sri Lanka has taken over the majority of Sunbird Bioenergy (SL) Ltd, a company which owns this world’s largest biomass to power generation project and Africa's largest sugar cane plantations on the North coast of Sierra Leone, near Makeni.

‘’Our big goal is to help create a sustainable, carbon-free world,” said Subash Abeywickrama, the Chief Operating Officer (COO)/ Director, Sunbird Bioenergy (SL) Ltd.
