Lisa Becker - Studio Art Lisa Becker is an artist based in Minnesota. She is constantly exploring image-making techniques, inviting the viewer to see nature in diverse ways.

Creating images of the natural world, her work allows endless exploration of the nearby state parks, finding new inspiration with each season. Lisa has been teaching art in public schools for 21 years. She currently serves as Community Schools Facilitator at Riverside Elementary. Lisa is proud to be part of the national Art21 Educators group with a focus on innovative collaborations in contemporary art.

A snowy day is perfect for rummaging through my stash of dried plants—like a little treasure hunt in my own studio. I’m putting new work up at Threshold Arts from tiny pieces to big showstoppers. Come see what’s blooming indoors while you shop local this season!

These works come from walking—fields, ditches, edges of the yard.
Plants collected in their own season, dried, and held in wax.
They carry the smell of summer heat and autumn wind, winter quiet and spring thaw.

I’ll be set up at Moka in the Peace Plaza Thursday Night for the downtown Art Walk, bringing these with me and more!

During the month of July, my work is displayed at the Saint Charles Public Library. Find it in the main entrance and in the children's section. This series is from native flowers and grasses grown in my backyard and on a nearby CRP. I look forward to Family Night on the 22nd!

Sassy, wild, and totally unbothered—Prairie Smoke strutted back into my garden like she owns the place. And honestly? She does.

I’m getting ready to display artwork at Saint Charles Public Library where I will advocate for plants that are native to Minnesota. I just might bring a little sass with me. 🌻
