WRUR is the student-run radio station at the University of Rochester. The Sting is the Internet station; it broadcasts student shows all days of the week. Students at the U of R can train to become DJs, and can thereafter host their own shows on the Sting! Shows range from music (any kind) to talk shows, and can really include anything a student is interested in doing on the air. Tonight we are going to be honoring Kevin Bonko the former UR Goalie and UR Radio station show host that passed away this summer from Leukemia. Kevin was a great guy who actually started the Hockey Broadcast program that we now do, and recruited David Kish and the tech help from WRUR. He worked on it for 2 years before it got launched but finally got the approval and the resources to pull it together.

We will be organizing donations to Strong Against Cancer in Kevins' name. All proceeds will fund an advanced immunotherapy treatment for childhood cancer at Seattle Children's Hospital, the hospital where Kevin had received the same treatment.
