We’re excited to shine this week’s Cast Spotlight on Kaitlin Cliber!

Kaitlin joins the cast of Picnic as Dana, one half of the affluent couple whose seemingly idyllic afternoon quickly begins to unravel. Dana may appear perfectly at home amid the elegance and luxury of the gathering, but beneath the surface lies a woman caught in events far beyond her control.

A familiar face in the Pittsburgh independent film community, Kaitlin has appeared in the upcoming psychological horror feature Locus, Amazon Prime’s A League of Their Own, and numerous local theater productions. Her natural screen presence, emotional range, and dedication to her craft make her a fantastic addition to the Picnic ensemble.

We’re honored to have Kaitlin as part of the Atomic Forge Films family and can’t wait for everyone to see the depth she brings to Dana.

🔥 Forging the Film Fridays ⚒️

Movie magic doesn’t happen by accident.

Some of the most memorable characters begin as nothing more than an idea, then slowly take shape through hours of sculpting, molding, painting, fitting, and refining.

This week’s behind-the-scenes look is a timelapse of one small piece of that process. Watching it compressed into seconds is a reminder of just how much work goes into creating even a single element for Picnic.

Independent filmmaking is built on countless hours that the audience will never see—but those hours are what make the final image believable.

Every prop.
Every costume.
Every storyboard.
Every frame.

Every independent film needs someone who can wear a dozen different hats—and somehow make it all look effortless.

Today we’re proud to spotlight Tabbi Reynolds, Co-Founder of Atomic Forge Films and one of the driving forces behind Picnic.

While audiences will never see her on screen, they’ll absolutely experience the impact of her work.

Meet Bubba Taylor, who joins the cast of PICNIC as Gene Beausoleil.

Gene arrives expecting an afternoon of luxury, laughter, and indulgence. But beneath the polished surface lies a man whose appetite extends far beyond the picnic table. As the afternoon unfolds, every choice carries a cost—and Gene will discover that some feasts demand more than anyone is prepared to give.

Bubba brings a commanding screen presence, natural charisma, and a quiet intensity to the role. We can’t wait for audiences to experience his performance when PICNIC begins production this September.

Picnic is no different.
One moment in the film pays tribute to one of the most haunting paintings in history: Et in Arcadia Ego by Nicholas Poussin.
The painting is a reminder that even in paradise, death is present.
In Picnic, that truth is not just observed…
It is experienced.

Meet the incredibly talented Dave Joseph. He will be portraying the affluent restauranteur Eric Altmeyer in the upcoming horror film, Picnic.

Every story needs someone the audience can experience it through.

In Picnic, that person is Eric.

Eric arrives expecting an elegant afternoon with friends…

But by the end of the day, he’ll be forced to confront truths he never imagined.

We’re thrilled to have Dave bringing Eric to life.

I’m the writer, director, and founder of Atomic Forge Films.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to stories that challenge, disturb, and stay with people long after the credits roll.

Atomic Forge Films was built on the belief that great filmmaking is a collaboration. Every person on set—from actors to production designers, cinematographers, makeup artists, sound mixers, editors, and visual effects artists—plays an essential role in bringing a story to life.

Our first feature film, Picnic, begins principal photography this September in western Pennsylvania, and I’m excited to share every step of that journey with you.
