My brother in law Jim Mandelaro has a new business with another very talented writer! If you have a college hopeful in the family, let them fine tune that college admissions essay!!!
L👀K!!
I’m pleased to announce a new venture with my good friend Matt Michael. We're The Write Bros.: Essay/Writing Experts
We are both longtime journalists and higher education specialists who will help your favorite high school student draft their best college admissions essay.
Matt and I have a combined 50 years in journalism and higher ed—me at the Democrat and Chronicle and the University of Rochester and Matt at the Syracuse Post-Standard and Syracuse University. We worked closely with our respective admissions offices and know what decision makers look for in the admissions essay—a required and impactful part of any college application.
This is the portion of the college admissions process where the student can show who they are, who they hope to become, and how they can positively influence the campus culture. It’s a personal and significant piece of the admissions puzzle.
Here’s what you’ll receive in our three-step program.
Step 1. A Zoom meeting with your daughter or son, where we’ll find a topic that will meaningfully support the decisions maker’s overall evaluation. Maybe it’s resiliency. Or values. Or Passions. Or inspirations. What event or person has shaped them? Everyone has a story to tell, and we’ll help your student find the right one.
Step 2. After your daughter or son writes the essay, we’ll edit it for grammar, clarity, and flow before sending it back for you and your student to review.
Step 3. Your college-bound student sends us the final draft, and we’ll take one more careful review before handing it back. Now, it’s polished and ready for your dream college!
The maximum word count for a college admissions essay is just 650 words. We’ll make sure your child stays on track—and stays focused.
The cost is $175, but if you sign up before July 4, it’s $150. Pay half at the beginning, and half at the end.
Message me or email us at [email protected] with your child’s name, school, year in school, and contact info. We’ll set up a time to chat and start this very important process!
