When Lisa Medina stepped into the Latino Leadership Development Program in fall 2025, she was looking for growth. What she found was something deeper: a community, a calling, and a clearer sense of the leader she was becoming.
Over six transformative weeks, Lisa joined a program that has helped Rochester-area Latinos rise into leadership for more than 35 years. The experience challenged her to think more deeply about her voice, her responsibility, and her place in the community.
And that journey did not end when the program did.
Lisa was elected by her peers as 2025 Class Co-Chair, began serving as an Ibero Board Observer, and joined the LLDP 2026 Steering Committee to help shape the future of the program for the next generation.
For Lisa, the Leadership Development Academy was more than professional development. It was a turning point. It gave her the confidence, network, and purpose to keep moving forward — and to help ensure more Latinos are represented in the rooms where decisions are made.
