Another quick chat while Iām waiting for school pickup ā¤ļø
Your childās electronics are changing how their body is developing.
This is something I really want parents to start paying attention to.
Our kids are spending hours looking down at phones, tablets, computers, and gaming devices while their bodies are still growing and developing.
That repeated forward-head position can contribute to:
⢠Neck, shoulder, and upper-back tension
⢠Headaches
⢠Jaw tension and TMJ symptoms
⢠Rounded shoulders and changes in posture
⢠Reduced neck mobility
⢠Muscle fatigue and weakness
⢠Increased strain on the spine
⢠Chest tightness and altered breathing mechanics
⢠Eye strain and fatigue
⢠Changes in how the body moves and carries itself
When I started looking at the statistics - not only around our children, but around chronic pain, postural changes, sedentary lifestyles, electronics, aging, and the demands of modern life -
I kept coming back to one question:
How do I create tools that help people restore and support the health of their tissue?
That has always been the goal for me. Not just for our kids. For all of us.
Because through the fascia lens, our bodies aren't simply spending time in these positions. Our tissues are adapting to the positions, movements, and patterns we repeatedly ask them to hold.
That is why I became so passionate about creating simple fascia-care tools and practices people could actually incorporate into everyday life, to help restore movement within the tissue and support the body as those patterns begin to change.
For our children, I think this conversation is especially important because we have an opportunity to teach them these habits while they're still growing.
Electronics aren't going anywhere. Our kids are growing up with them, and we're living with them too.
So rather than pretending we can remove technology from our lives, we can learn how to better care for our bodies while living in the world we're in.
Better awareness. Better habits. Movement. Fascia care. And tools we can use throughout our lives.
If modern life is changing the demands we place on our bodies, we need to change how we care for them, too. ā¤ļø
