Welcome to the Home & Garden issue.

“Stay, stay at home, my heart, and rest;
Home-keeping hearts are happiest,
For those that wander they know not where
Are full of trouble and full of care;
To stay at home is best.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The Artemis II astronauts are coming home today! Still looking for some cool moon content? Read George Payne's article about the Apollo Lunar Surface Close-up Camera (ALSCC) that was designed to photograph the Moon’s surface in microscopic detail. The ALSCC accompanied the 1969 crew of the Apollo 11 and captured the first close-up images of the moon's surface.

That camera was designed right here in Rochester by Kodak, of course ,and now lives at the George Eastman Museum.

We just heard that it is National Cocktail Day. Why don't you celebrate by visiting Wayne Coyle at Mike’s Ridge Terrace Pub & Grill? Coyle has been bartending for nearly fifty years—bartending is in his bones..

"The people that come in here keep me working. You get a following, and it’s a community. That’s the best part about it, and that’s the only reason I come back—because of the people. It’s always been that way. And hey, if you ever want to know something, you don’t need to read the paper, you come to the bar—everybody knows what’s going on.”

Read about Coyle in our March/April issue and at 585mag.com.

"In 1990, Monroe County’s daytime television viewing habits were disrupted by a TV first: the live broadcast of The People v. Arthur J. Shawcross. Never before had home viewers anywhere been given access to gavel-to-gavel coverage of a sordid murder trial. The show lasted eleven weeks, September to December. Viewers who normally followed daytime dramas or game shows were instead focused on the trial of a serial killer who’d confessed to killing ten women in Monroe County and one more in Wayne County, but whose lawyers claimed he was insane and not responsible for his actions."

Intrigued? Read the rest of Michael Benson's piece about how the Shawcross trial changed how Americans consume true crime in our latest issue.
