On this episode of ImVibes Podcast, we sit down with Levi Erickson of No Anger Control for a conversation that covers decades of punk, hardcore, music, art, and staying busy.
Levi takes us back to discovering music through skateboarding, picking up the guitar as a teenager, and playing in bands across California, Kansas, Maine, and beyond before eventually becoming part of the Charlotte punk scene. He shares stories from the late-'90s New England hardcore scene, including shows with bands like The Unseen, Ducky Boys, A Global Threat, Dropkick Murphys, and Blood For Blood, as well as the friendships and experiences that helped shape his musical journey.
We also get into the history of No Anger Control, how the band came together, adding Tiff to the lineup, their years of playing shows, and the possibility of new material and future vinyl releases.
And because Levi never seems to sit still, we dive into his work as a comic book writer and artist, conventions, creating his own books, Charlotte's disappearing music history, old-school punk flyers, vinyl, skateboarding, and the philosophy of simply keeping your brain engaged and continuing to make s**t happen.
As always, expect plenty of stories, music talk, tangents, laughs, and the occasional squirrel.
Good music. Good libations. Good vibes.
