Gordon also issued an Executive Order (2025-08) authorizing up to $10 million in state emergency funds to ensure Wyoming families continue to have access to food if federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) dollars run out.

The bill would have increased the state gas tax by five cents per gallon initially, before increasing to 10 cents per gallon in 2026. Approximately $4.5 million in additional revenue would have gone to WYDOT for every cent the fuel tax increases, WYDOT CFO Dennis Byrne said.

A judge tossed out a case against Rock Springs resident Kari Cochran who was accused of stalking. She criticized Sweetwater County School District No. 1 at meetings and on social media.

The judge noted Cochran’s statements and criticism are legal speech protected by both The First Amendment and the Wyoming Constitution.

Scout members of Troop 86 recently demonstrated how to transport an injured person on an improvised stretcher. Pictured from left are Scouts BSA Isaac Loftus, Santiago Homer, and Wesley Clark on Oct. 30 when they met at the home of leader Vera Trefethen.

The Scouts also practiced arm and leg splints and how to tie an arm bandage. Other Scouts attending the meeting were Robert Roswell, Ammyn Corbett, Luke Durrant, and Tyler Hurst. Chris Hurst assisted Trefethen and Roswell in teaching the skills.
