Metonym The Literary Journal of William Jessup University All submissions must be previously unpublished work. Metonym will only accept e-mailed submissions.

Simultaneous submissions will be considered as long as we are notified immediately if the piece is accepted elsewhere. We strongly recommend you read previous issues of Metonym and examples on the website before submitting to gain a better understanding of what we are looking for. Please send submissions to [email protected] with [Submission Fall 2012] in the subject line. Submission dead

line: September 27th, 2013
Work that will be considered includes:
- 1-6 poems, under two pages long.
- 1-3 pieces of fiction and creative non-fiction up to 2,000 words for each piece.
- 1-4 appropriate comics, or 1-4 pieces of original, sophisticated, and complete artwork (no rough pencil work). Please send written submissions in either a word document or PDF. And art must be scanned and sent as a high resolution JPEG and or PDF. DO NOT SUBMIT WORK IN THE BODY OF AN EMAIL ONLY AS AN ATTACHMENT. Be sure to include in the body of the email contact information. Acceptance and denial notifications will be sent out by the end of October.

Metonym, as a journal, had a redemption arc of its own. The journal had to start from ground zero, about five years ago, as a result of the challenges of the pandemic, and the joy of new staff at Jessup University. But– the journal overcame! —You can read the full article on our website.
