2021. The calendar ticked over yet another year. Our massive kinda spherical rock (to put it way to simply) successfully orbited the sun again. The mountains don’t care, the lake doesn't care, the sky doesn't care, but hey good job and congratulations Earth and the cosmos… it's utterly unbelievable what you do. 
Not to mention how cool you are doing it. Effortlessly tiled, spinning, and, thats right, freaking flying through space since… well... that time you exploded into existence… holy crap. 
Getting out and looking at mountains helps put everything into perspective… I am just voyaging through a vapor of time in this unexplainable universe for an unknown amount of time. Rushing me back to reality that life is absolutely a miracle. Often letting it slip through the cracks of the day to day nuances and minutia as it slowly deepens its roots over a slow and incomprehensible period of time. Thankfully it's never too late to just lop the tree down from the trunk with a screaming 2-stoke chain saw leaving the roots to decay underground.. and move on with life. 
I guess what I'm trying to say is this is me looking at the breathtaking landscape of our unequivocal stoic Earth as she reminded me, “ ts not a big deal don’t worry… let’s make another go around the sun.”  *deep breath, “Cool thanks. Congrats on another year… whats that like 4.543 BILLION years… or wait… we don’t know that either… thats right . man you’re so cool.”

There are not many “things” in my life that I have any sort of love or emotions for... but this van is one of them. I think it has a lot more to do with the byproduct of owning something like an old epic adventure mobile rather than the thing itself. This van encourages adventure and with the unknowns and risks of said adventure comes stories worth remembering and sharing... so many epic family road trips to look back on.
However it’s time to part ways and hopefully someone new can go create some stories form epic adventures to tell others around a fire someday. Dm me if your interested in buying little blue.

Happy thanksgiving everyone! hooked us up with hundreds of socks and underwear to hand out to the homeless here in Venice. Got to meet some pretty amazing people who although are living on the street still had so much they are thankful for.
2020 has not been the best year... it’s been difficult. It’s been a lot of loss and unknowns. However Jorge who is living on the street, one block from our family, was so well spoken and dropped some truths.. he mentioned the fact that breath is a gift from God and if you’re breathing that’s a gift to be thankful for.
Even now I’m still unsure of when my work will go back to any type of normal or when the kids will be able to go to school.
I’m so thankful for my health, my family/friends, clean water, and literally 100s more!

Van build update. We got a 2017 ram promaster 2500 high roof 159wb with the idea of transforming it into a sweet camper adventure machine! 🚐💨
It has been so much work but we are getting to the point where we can see what it’s going to look like!
We are going to be renting this van out in Los Angeles so Washington friends jump on a cheap flight and take our van on an epic adventure to Joshua Tree, Yosemite, or anywhere! We can have the van ready for you at LAX ✈️🚐!
We are also pumped to go have our own adventures in this van 🙌🔥📈

I have a lot on my mind, but lets not get confused and lost in the darkness. When someone's last words are, "... please someone..." Will you stand against that evil and be that someone.
We are seeing the masses come to fight this evil with peace. We must continue to burn brighter and to help light others as they stumble in the dark unaware of the evil in our midst. You must seek truth, turn off the news, and look some humans in the eyes. Do not allow your heart to be divided. Do not allow your heart to hate. Do not allow your heart to miss this moment to eradicate an evil in our society that we stared in the face. Do not be filled with fear. Please... somebody....
Stand up in unity to fight for justice in peace with the urgency and organization as those who work against love and peace.

This is I don’t know him. He dosn’t know me, but his story impacted me. It showed me something about my story… His story inspires me, gives me hope, and cases action in my life moving forward.
Here’s my story and thoughts:
It’s hard enough to follow my passion and I have never once experienced what you face often. In fact the opposite. I am faced with the benefit of the doubt.
I look back on my carrier and see I walked the line of rules (let’s be real I ran across the line triumphantly declaring “Anything for the shot!”) and never worried about my safety especially from the community. I walked into events without permission to advance my career because when I walked around with expensive cameras people assumed I was important and suppose to be there... unlike when you walk with expensive equipment and they assume you stole.
Following a passion takes sacrifice. Passion comes from a word meaning “suffering” although the struggle feels real for me... my passion isn't even in the same arena as you. Your passion is inspiring and convicting.
My “suffering” was waking up at 3am to get to the spot (jump a fence) for the first sunlight hitting the earth. Got the shot.
My “sacrificing” was sleeping in a parking lot (illegally) because I didn't have enough money for a hotel as a young up and coming photographer I'm fueled by “passion". I woke up from my illegal night stay and you guessed it.. Got the shot.
I then get to share my story of the “hustle” the “passion” of getting to where I’m at and I’m looked up to even praised for “thinking outside the box” for “taking risks” for doing what I needed to do to get to the next step in my career as a photographer.
I’ll be honest.. I thought I was in the same race with everyone next to me in America. I thought we all had to take the equal “risks” to follow our dreams and that some aren't willing to take that “equal risk” that I take. Unfortunately I am so wrong.
There are those who wake up at 3am to get to the spot only to be told to "move over” for the real photographers or "go move your car".. well guess what.. they missed the shot.
