Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, and father figures who have made a lasting impact through their love, guidance, and example.

Fatherhood isn't measured by perfection. It's measured by presence.

It's the early mornings, the late nights, the words of encouragement, the lessons taught, the sacrifices made, and the unwavering support given along the way.

Today, we commemorate June 19, 1865. The day news of emancipation finally reached the enslaved African Americans in Galveston, TX, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth is a time to reflect on our nation's history, honor the resilience and achievements of Black Americans, and reaffirm our commitment to equity, opportunity, and inclusion for all.

Montgomery County is strengthened by the diversity of our communities and the many voices, cultures, and experiences that shape who we are.

As we celebrate today, let us continue working together to build a future where every resident has the opportunity to thrive.
