The Wootton Common Sense family would like to extend our condolences to the school community and family of Dr. Michael Doran, our principal who passed away earlier this morning. Dr. Doran was a true example of what it means to be an educator, going above and beyond for his students time and time again. He truly loved the Wootton community, and whether it was cheering at the sidelines on game day, taking selfies with students in the halls, or even just a quick "hello" at lunch, his presence in the school will be felt and dearly missed.

We will share more information as it becomes available...

Dear Wootton funs,

Does our school principal have common sense? Here are some factors and reasonings:

1) Put a cellular phone tower right on the Wootton High School ground, so our young kids could receive the strong radiation every day! So the people in this residential area could get it everyday.

2) For what? A few bucks!!! Even we are paying high property tax every year!

3) The same plan failed several years ago because of objections from our community, and he is trying to bypass us secretly this time. He knows that it's against people's wish, he still wants to try it! He knows that other schools in this area did not want to do this, and he still wants to do it!

4) He may claim that it is not a huge health risk, but he should not put the concerned kids, parents, and residents under such a psychological stress. The stress alone is a risk to the concerned!

5) We need a principal who can listen to people regarding such an important issue, not one who tries to bypass us. We need a principal who brings good things to the school, to the kids, and to the neighborhood, not one who brings in health risks for a few bucks!

6) In a secret “public” hearing tonight at the school, there were about 40 people, and ALL were against this bad idea. But I am personally not aware of any organization taking the stand. I heard that the PTO are silent on this issue.

7) Is our principal doing his job? Is the PTO representing us?

8) We need to spread the words among the students and parents, and in the neighborhood, we need to get organized, and have our strong voice heard!
