Former School Employee Serving Jail Time for Providing Alcohol, Vapes to Juveniles
ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. — An Alleghany County woman is serving a four-month jail sentence after admitting to providing alcohol and vapes to juveniles, according to the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said they received a tip on February 23 alleging that Raven Hamm, an employee of Alleghany Highlands Public Schools at the time, had been purchasing alcoholic beverages and vapes for minors.
An investigation revealed that at least three juveniles were present at Hamm's residence on January 31, where alcohol and vapes were made available to them.
According to investigators, Hamm admitted to the offenses during interviews and was charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and three counts of providing alcohol to individuals under the age of 21.
Hamm was convicted in Alleghany Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court and is currently serving a four-month sentence at the Alleghany Regional Jail.
