Are legacy Siacoin ASIC miners experiencing a resurgence? Reports indicate a significant overnight increase in daily SC yields, with some Goldshell operators observing a fourfold rise in daily rewards - scaling from approximately 250 SC to over 1,000 SC on existing infrastructure.

Could this trend be attributed to recent XBT/Bitcoin Blake2b network activity? A migration of hardware away from the Siacoin network may be reducing competitive mining difficulty, thereby increasing individual yields, though this does not necessarily correlate with net profitability.

I am currently investigating the underlying factors contributing to this surge, as the renewed viability of legacy hardware is noteworthy. Are you currently mining Siacoin, and have you observed a similar increase in daily rewards?

🚨 XBT / Bitcoin Blake2b Mining Update

Bitcoin is still trading around $76,000, but there is another Bitcoin story getting a lot of attention from crypto miners right now. 👀

XBT, also called Bitcoin Blake2b, uses the Blake2b mining algorithm instead of the SHA-256 mining used by regular Bitcoin.

That means some older Blake2b ASIC miners that were built for coins like Sia can now be used to mine XBT. ⛏️

This has brought new attention to Blake2b mining hardware and hashrate.

One VERY important thing to understand:

✅ BTC and XBT are not the same chain.

✅ Regular Bitcoin miners still mine BTC with SHA-256.

✅ XBT uses Blake2b mining.

✅ Mining rewards and profits can change very quickly as more miners join.

Bitcoin Blake2b only switched to Blake2b proof-of-work recently, so this is still a very new mining market. The network has already seen large changes in hashrate and mining output.
