Prom+Final Pacer of the Year+Senior Continuance=a Friday to look forward to!


Attention Seniors: Continuance packets due no later than 3:00 p.m.TOMORROW. They can be dropped off in room A112, the Pacer office. The whole thing doesn't need to be filled out but in order to be featured in the booklet, you must turn in a packet with a student and parent signature. Thanks!


The Pacer has been named "Best Overall Newspaper" by the Illinois Journalism Education Association in its 2013 newspaper contest. The Pacer won in Division three.

The Pacer had 13 total awards, 10 individual and three staff. The contest covers papers from March 2012 through March 2013.

Individual award winners were:

Liam Brady, honorable mention, best sports story
Noe Ricon, 1st place, best editorial cartoon
Liam Brady, 2nd place, best column

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Here at the Pacer we're so thankful for the support we have from the students, school and community. You guys are the best!


10 members of The Pacer staff just spent five days at JEA's national scholastic journalism convention in San Antonio, TX to improve the paper. At the end of the awards ceremony they are taking home: Ninth place in NSPA's national Best of Show competition, fifth place in the 2012 national Sports Story of the Year, five Excellence awards and an Honorable Mention!


The November issue of the Pacer is coming out tomorrow! Highlights include coverage of the the Election, info processing requirement changes and the variety show, as well two new Pacer awards "The Pacer Player of the Season" for all fall sports teams and "The Artist of the Month". Be sure to pick up a copy!
