Native American spirituality believes there is no division or distance between this world and the spirit world, that the spiritual world is another plane of existence that coexists with this physical reality. In essence we have one foot in the physical world and one foot in the spirit world able to access both in our daily life, for we accept spirit communication and messages from other spirits as a daily occurrence, just like communicating with other human beings.
We believe there is doorways and portals that the spirits can enter our world from their dimension, and manifest into different forms by using the energy sources here on Mother Earth. Unlike other religions who believe the spirit world is another place separated from Mother Earth, the Native American believes both worlds are one only separated by a different reality.
Because of this we are open to the spirits who try and communicate to us through all things that have physical form, for the spirit lives within everything. That is why we have such a deep reverence for nature and all our relations, for everything that moves and exists here, comes from the spirit world that shares the same space but is a different reality and dimension.
