Sitting here listening to that old “Shine” and it’s got me going down memory lane. Amazing how certain songs can take you right back to moments, people, and lessons that helped shape who you are today.

Some days start a little rocky… but you keep pushing. 💛

Today a young lady walked up and asked me to shine her boots. Then she asked, “Are you GO GET YOUR FUTURE?” Instantly put a smile on my face and brightened my whole day.

Come to find out, a friend told her about me and she had been looking for me since last month. That meant a lot. Just a reminder that you never know who you’re inspiring just by showing up and doing what you love.

God is good. We talked, we laughed — just a beautiful soul.

Don’t forget your purpose. It’s the little things that count.

Don’t blow your taxes.

I know bills need to get handled. Take care of what you HAVE to take care of first. But after that… don’t rush out and spend it on the new chain, the new watch, or trying to impress people who won’t invest in you.

Fix what needs fixing.Invest in something that moves your life forward.

There’s something you’re good at. Something in you that can multiply if you put time, money, and belief into it.

Your health isn’t promised.That job isn’t promised.Nothing is guaranteed.

So make a promise to yourself.

Promise yourself you’ll take a step toward your future this year. Start the business. Buy the equipment. Take the class. Invest in the skill. Bet on YOU.

You said this was the year you were going to do it.

And that’s exactly who I’m talking to.

There’s enough room for all of us to shine.

If you’re in a position of power, remember what it felt like when you were still learning. Remember the mistakes, the questions, the moments you needed guidance. Everyone grows at a different pace.

One of the greatest traits of a leader is communication. Talk to people. Earn their trust. Build them up instead of tearing them down.

You don’t have to disrespect someone to prove you’re great at what you do.

Encourage people. Motivate them. Make them want to come to work. Make them want to work with you.
