A new tropical storm is forecast to develop near the Bahamas this weekend (IMELDA) while Humberto strengthens to a major hurricane. Here is what to expect for the weekend and the week ahead.

Most of Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England will see rain and thunderstorms today. There is severe weather risk as well as the chance for an isolated tornado or two. Then we head into the weekend and the longer range is complicated by the possibility of 2 tropical systems off the US Southeast coast. Right now there is no risk here from these storms other than the chance some showers could sneak northward Sunday unrelated to the tropical cyclones.
