The Anson Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Joseph Tejeda, a 17-year-old male, who is suspected of being involved in a shooting that occurred on December 28, 2024, at the intersection of 4th Street and Avenue J in Anson, Texas.

An assault-style rifle was used in the shooting and has not yet been recovered. Tejeda is considered armed and dangerous and is charged with multiple felonies.

Suspect Description:
Name: Joseph Tejeda
Age: 17


Public Advisory:

We urge the public not to approach Joseph Tejeda if seen. Instead, contact law enforcement immediately.

If you have any information about Tejeda’s whereabouts or details regarding the incident, please contact the Anson Police Department at 325-823-3056 or submit an anonymous tip through the Jones County Dispatch Center at 325-823-4604.

It is important to note that harboring or aiding a fugitive is a crime under Texas law. According to Texas Penal Code § 38.05, a person commits the offense of Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution if they:

1. Harbor or conceal the suspect,
2. Provide or aid in providing the suspect with means of avoiding arrest or effecting escape or
3. Warn the suspect of impending discovery or apprehension.

This offense is classified as a felony of the third degree when the individual being harbored is charged with or convicted of a felony.

Roscoe Fire Dept paged for mutual aid In fisher county for a large wildfire off 431 and FM 57. Please use caution in the area.

19:47 UPDATE
Multiple Dept on scene of this large brush fire.
Roscoe Fire Dept, Roby and Rotan Fire Dept, Lake Sweetwater Fire Dept and Snyder Fire Dept. Unknown how many acres at this time crews reporting strong wind on the fire scene and will only pick up through out the night. Please still use caution in the area multiple trucks in the area working to stop the fire.

20:56 UPDATE
Have heard that the Texas A&M Forest is on scene and has also deployed 2 strike teams from (TIFMAS) I believe to this fire to help with efforts in stopping this fire.

22:10 UPDATE
Fire has jumped another County Road and is headed south from what we are being told from crews on scene this is still out of control please stay out of this area!

23:42 UPDATE
The Texas A&M Forest Service is reporting this fire is to be 150 acre wildfire in Fisher County. They have said this fire is 0% contained. 

00:04 UPDATE 1/15/22
The fire has grown to 400 acres and 10% contained. Crews are still working to get this fire under control with the conditions they are facing out there.

03:27 UPDATE
Fire seems to be getting under control
But the wind is making that very difficult for crews on the ground. But the fire is under control enough were incident command has let our tanker and man power head home.

The fire in fisher county is now 776 acres and 100% contained.
