FROM THE ROSEAU COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE:

At approximately 2:51 PM yesterday, dispatch received a call of an 8 year old who had an apparent gunshot wound.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene in Roosevelt and immediately began life saving efforts.

The juvenile was transported to Lifecare Medical Center in Roseau where he was later pronounced dead after continued medical intervention.

It appears to be an isolated incident with no threat to the public.

The matter is being investigated by the Roseau County Sheriff's Office.
