Contending for the Word | Weekly Watch

Listen or watch here:
https://servantsofgrace.org/false-compassion-vs-biblical-love/

Love does not rejoice in wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth (1 Corinthians 13:6).

In this Weekly Watch, Dave Jenkins explains the difference between false compassion and biblical love and why Christians must hold truth and love together without compromise. As culture increasingly defines love as affirmation, Scripture calls believers to demonstrate compassion, kindness, and humility while remaining faithful to God's Word.

Be encouraged to point people to the truth that leads to life through Jesus Christ.

Compassion and affirmation are not the same thing.

Listen now: https://servantsofgrace.org/compassion-without-compromise/

In a culture that often equates love with affirmation, Scripture points us to a better way. Jesus demonstrated both compassion and truth, showing kindness to sinners while calling them to repentance and faith.

In this episode of Contending for the Word Q&A, Dave explains the biblical difference between compassion and affirmation and how Christians can speak the truth in love without compromising God's Word.

The Bible presents creation, the fall, redemption, and the return of Christ as real history. When Genesis 1–11 is treated as myth or legend, the foundations of the Christian faith are affected in profound ways.

In this short clip, Dave explains why Genesis matters, why biblical authority matters, and why Christians must allow Scripture to interpret the world rather than letting the world reinterpret Scripture.

The real questions are: Who defines truth? Who defines identity? And who has the final authority—God or culture?

Identity in Christ: What Following Jesus Changes About Who We Are

Many people today define themselves by desires, experiences, feelings, or past struggles. But Scripture teaches that when we come to Christ, we are made new. Our identity is no longer rooted in sin but in our union with Jesus Christ.

In this episode of Contending for the Word Q&A, Dave Jenkins explores what 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Luke 9:23 teach about becoming a new creation in Christ, discipleship, repentance, and spiritual transformation.

The James Webb Space Telescope was built to confirm naturalistic explanations for the universe but instead, it keeps revealing the breathtaking complexity of creation itself.

Creation points us not away from the Word of God, but toward it. As Romans 1 makes clear, we are without excuse. The heavens declare the glory of the Creator who made us, sustains us, and holds the world together by the word of His power.

Confusion and chaos are everywhere today. False teaching spreads quickly, and many believers are tempted to respond with fear, anxiety, or discouragement.

But Christ has not changed.

Jesus Christ is still the Head of His church. He is still building His church. He is still saving sinners through the faithful preaching of His Word. God's Word remains true, and the gospel remains "the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16).

The answer to confusion is not panic. The answer is confidence in Christ and confidence in His Word.

Watch this short clip and be encouraged to stand firm in biblical truth.

My new book, The War of the Worldviews, is designed to help Christians recognize false teaching, develop a biblical worldview, and stand firm in a confused age.
