Its time for a huge Thor and Loki progress update and photo dump!
The handtooled leather belts are done ✅️
All the armor is painted, weathered and sealed ✅️
The props are also done ✅️
All thats left is to add leather straps and buckles to the armor pieces, add fur to the capes and to finish Thors crown and we are done! Then its time to finish my build book.
The finish line is approaching!

Little Thor and Loki progress photo dump. I am officially beginning the con crunch 🙃. I want these done by the end of this month so I can get some bomb final photos for my build book, and be able to spend my wedding anniversary with hubby without worrying about things that arent done.

Props are printed and Im almost ready to paint them, Loki's armor is almost all primed and ready for paint, I have all the foam and Worbla cut out and ready to assemble for Thor's armor, Thor's chainmail is also done! Fingers crossed I get everything done in time 🤞🏻

Capes!! These are velvet with a satin lining. As with the rest of these costumes, they're 100% hand sewn! They aren't *technically* done, I have to bind the shoulder pleats to finish them and I will be adding a fur capelet, but both of those things will wait until I have the breastplates and pauldrons put together so I can decide how I am going to attach the capes to the armor. I have several ideas and some of them require the closures to be attached to the binding before I stitch them to the capes.

I took some time away from this project during the holidays, mostly because I needed to work on Christmas gifts, but I'm back at it now! The hand armor and headband/crown are ready for paint, I'm nearly ready to wire the lights for the breastplate and armbracers, and today, I tackled the hip armor! I need to do some detail work on the edges of the armor, if you look close, they're kind of a mess right now. In the coming weeks, I plan to finish the armor and some of the lekku interior before I jump into the most difficult and nerve-wracking part of this costume: the silicone lekku. Stay tuned for more Ahsoka!!!

This project is feeling very cursed. I had everything I needed ordered so that it would arrive last week, with the intention of getting started this weekend and hopefully knocking out the armor. However, that is not what happened. First, the post office misdelivered my fabric, and I have been trying for a literal week, seven whole calendar days, to get it back. I was finally able to talk to someone yesterday who actually seems to care about the situation and is actively trying to fix it, rather than brush me off and casually shoo me. I have also been in touch with the company I ordered from, but because it was transferred from UPS to USPS, I get the feeling they won't want to replace it. Then, I had to cancel an Amazon order for paint that I needed for several of the armor pieces and order it elsewhere because it was meant to be delivered Friday but never shipped. Finally, I ripped up the coating on my brand new, literally this was the first print I did on this thing, build plate for my 3D printer. It isn't detrimental, it's still perfectly functional, as long as I don't print anything directly in the middle of the print bed. Ugh. I am persevering. I am determined. I WILL get this project done, and I will be so much more proud of myself to see it through.

So I'm changing plans. I have remade the dress for Clone Wars S7 Ahsoka three or four times, and I'm still not entirely happy with it. This has made me lose the drive and excitement for this project, so I need to go in a different direction. But worry not my friends, I will still be doing Ahsoka, I'm just switching to a different era; Rebels! I found a 3D printable mold for a silicone lekku, and I'm super excited to try that out. I'm going to hopefully get the dress and glove patterns drafted this week, so wish me luck.
