On 16 November 2001, Agbani Darego of Nigeria was crowned Miss World, marking the first time a Black African woman won the title. She was 18 years old at the time and beat 93 contestants to claim the crown ❤️💚🖤

Join us as we support our community this Thanksgiving! 🍂 Lone Star College–North Harris will be giving away Thanksgiving meal bundles on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. The first 300 families will receive a full meal kit including a turkey and sides. All are welcome!

A team of Black doctors opened Premier Health Urgent Care in Chicago’s Hyde Park to give the Southside faster and more accessible medical care. Led by Dr. Reuben C. Rutland, Dr. Airron Richardson, Dr. Michael A. McGee, and Dr. Gregory Primus, the center was created to offer affordable treatment options. Their mission is to fill a critical gap in the community by reducing long emergency room wait times. 🙂
