LIFE ON THE FRONTIER

Area students learn how pioneers fed themselves in the 1860s Texas. School kids were invited to the George Ranch Historical Park's annual Frontiers Day celebration on Thursday. The event continued today for area schools and the event is open to the public on Saturday and included demonstrations on how pioneer families kept themselves clean (laundry and lye soap), calf wrangling, housekeeping, firing of vintage muskets and canons and a Birds of the World program.
