Stars & Strikes in Sandy Springs has closed. The roughly 51,000 square foot entertainment facility opened in late 2013 and quietly closed as of July 6 at North River shopping center (8767 Roswell Road.) The company announced the closure on their website in advance, but its shuttering seems to have gone nearly completely unnoticed by neighbors and local media. Exterior signage has been removed from the building and the Sandy Springs location has been removed from the company's website, but signage remains on the center's marquee along Roswell Road and the facility remains listed on the center's website.

A new restaurant called Red Crab Juicy Seafood is coming soon to Northridge Shopping Center along Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. The roughly 7,000 square foot restaurant was most recently home to Barnacle's, a sports bar, but had also in years past been a Buffalo Wild Wings, among other concepts. The formerly Kroger-anchored center recently welcomed a Goodwill in a portion of the old grocery, but in recent weeks has also lost junior anchor Dollar Tree which relocated north on Roswell to Loehmann's Plaza.

City of Kennesaw Government cancels Kennesaw Parks & Recreation Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival and the Salute to America events. So many being canceled this summer. 😩

Out of an abundance of caution, the City of Kennesaw & Kennesaw Parks & Recreation have decided to cancel both the Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival and Salute to America events. Pigs & Peaches was originally scheduled for August 21 & 22, and the Salute to America event had previously been rescheduled from July 3 to September 12.

As always, the health and safety of our community, including visitors, vendors and staff, is our first priority.

We look forward to continuing these great annual events next year.

Alpharetta teens deliver 420,000 units of protective gear to health workers

Four Alpharetta High School teens created Paralink in April, as they saw health care workers risking infection and death in the fight against COVID-19. Paralink was created to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to those who need it.

A group of Alpharetta teens have developed a supply chain to deliver more protective gear to health care workers than even their government competitors.

The City of Roswell has decided to cancel the remainder of this year’s Riverside Sounds, Alive in Roswell, and Music on the Hill events.

Due to the continued rise in COVID-19 cases, the City of Roswell has decided to cancel the remainder of this year’s Riverside Sounds, Alive in Roswell, and Music on the Hill events. While the community looks forward to these summer events, the City of Roswell’s decision to cancel these events was made out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of both the public and City staff and volunteers. The City continues to follow Governor Kemp’s orders and encourages our citizens and visitors to wear a face coverning when out in public to combat further COVID-19 transmission.

Please refer to www.roswellgov.com/calendar to check the status of other events and programs which may be affected by COVID-19.

Very proud of my church! RUMC has always been very supporting and invitational to special needs individuals. Way to go!
Can you suggest a good Hibachi restaurant, where a chef cooks/performs in front of the diners?
Wow. Di Chapman’s column on women drivers really gave them a bad rap! I don’t know about you, but my wife and all the women in my car club are excellent drivers. (Better than some men I know.) Just because she is not attentive to the task when she drives, don’t paint all women with the “bad driver” brush!
I agree with Lin. Creating this area is totally unnecessary as we are being provided the services by the county without another level of government. No new taxes.
Our breeder has had another litter of the most amazing English Doodles ever. We picked up one last year and she's been the sweetest girl I have ever had. If you're looking for a amazing and beautiful friend let us know and we'll get you the info, they should be able to leave on April 21st. They range from $1800-2000.
