Mr. Quigley Photography has been CMSA's Official Photographer for 25 years. Mark Quigley loves to be behind the camera, but never in the spotlight. Consequently, he modestly retired from CMSA events after the completion of the 2025 Scharbauer CMSA World Championship. Help us give appreciation to Mr. Quigley and give a warm CMSA welcome to David Thomas with Spirit of a Cowboy Images as the NEW OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER OF CMSA!

David Thomas is a dedicated equine and Western lifestyle photographer and the owner of Spirit of a Cowboy Images. With a genuine connection to cowboy culture and a passion for preserving meaningful moments, David combines artistry, authenticity, and technical skill to capture the heart of Cowboy Mounted Shooting.
In 2025, David worked alongside longtime CMSA photographer Mark Quigley, photographing three CMSA Championship Events while learning CMSA’s photography workflows, media expectations, and organizational needs. During this time, he developed strong relationships within the CMSA community and earned a deep appreciation for the riders, families, and horses who make the sport special.
Growing up on a small farm in Walla Walla, Washington shaped David’s respect for the Western lifestyle and the people who live it. Today, he continues that connection through his work, documenting mounted shooting events and Western culture across the country.
As CMSA’s Official Photographer, David is committed to carrying forward a tradition of excellence, supporting CMSA with professional and consistent event coverage, and visually telling the story of this incredible sport and its community for years to come.
