SANDBAGS AVAILABLE AS POTENTIAL HEAVY RAINFALL FORECAST

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch that includes Chaves County for Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 22) through Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 23). The Weather Service has issued this notification due to the potential for excessive rainfall in many parts of New Mexico.

Local residents can find sand and bags outside the City of Roswell Streets Department facility at 320 E. Alameda St. while the supply lasts. People should bring their own shovels to fill the sandbags, and are asked to be considerate of others by taking only
a reasonable amount since there is a limited supply.
