📍 West Nile Virus Update: Roswell Area Park

The City of Roswell has been notified by the Fulton County Board of Health that mosquito samples collected at Roswell Area Park have again tested positive for West Nile virus.

The Fulton County Board of Health is coordinating the response through its mosquito control contractor, Vector Disease Control International (VDCI). Treatment began last night, Sept. 29, with additional treatment scheduled for today, Sept. 30, weather permitting. Spraying occurs within a quarter-mile radius of the positive mosquito trap locations.

Roswell Area Park remains open, with no impact to park access, operations or scheduled programs and activities.

Signs will be posted in the affected areas to notify visitors about the positive mosquito findings and spraying activities. Retesting will occur following treatment.

🛡️ Help Protect Yourself from Mosquito Bites
• Use an EPA-registered insect repellent and follow label directions.
• Wear long sleeves and pants when practical.
• Take extra precautions around dawn and dusk.
• Empty standing water from buckets, flowerpot saucers, birdbaths and other outdoor containers.
• Keep window and door screens in good condition.
