After reading through some of the comments on our earlier post about Monday night’s Roby CISD and Rotan ISD upcoming board meetings, we thought it might be worth putting this out there first.

Not to tell anyone what to think.
Not to tell anyone where to stand.
But to add a little perspective before the conversation gets louder.

This is not a vote on consolidation. It is a vote on whether both boards believe this is a conversation worth opening to the public in an organized, informed way.

And if this conversation is going to happen, it needs to be built on facts, respect, and a willingness to listen. Not rumors, insults, and comment-section cheap shots.

Before anybody starts ordering uniforms, changing fight songs, or lighting up the comment section, let’s be clear:

No consolidation decision is being made Monday night.

What’s on both agendas is bigger than boardroom business. It reaches directly into the possible future of Fisher County’s students.

Roby CISD and Rotan ISD are both set to discuss the possibility of opening a public feedback and information-gathering process regarding the potential consolidation of the two districts.

That means questions. Concerns. Opinions. Pushback. Support. Doubts. Ideas. All of it.

And around here? That is not a small agenda item.

This is where the rumor mill needs to take a seat and the public needs to pay attention.

Show up. Listen. Ask questions. Read the agenda. Know what is actually being discussed.

Because “I heard…” is not a plan.

And Facebook comments are not a public feedback forum.

UPDATE! She has been found! Thank you to Fisher County Law Enforcement and everyone that helped search and for all the prayers!! FISHER COUNTY MISSING CHILD — URGENT!

The Fisher County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public’s help locating a missing 9-year-old girl.
She is autistic and non-verbal. She goes by Rowan, and also answers to “Sis.”

Description:
• Blonde hair, blue eyes
• 4 feet 5 inches tall, 74 pounds
• Black shirt with “Game Day” written in glitter
• Black and white checked bottoms
• No shoes

She was last seen around 8:00 p.m. at 262 CR 408 in Roby, Texas, in Fisher County.

If you are in or near the area, please be aware of your speed and drive slow. She is small, has no shoes, and may be near a road.

If you see her, please do not chase or call out. Keep her in view from a distance and call the Sheriff Department right away. Because she is non-verbal and may be frightened by a stranger approaching, a sudden approach could cause her to run.

If you have seen Rowan, or have ANY information about where she may be, please call the Fisher County Sheriff’s Department immediately at 325-776-2273 or dial 911.

Please do not wait. Even small details may help. Share this post widely.

Yesterday evening may have been stormy, but there was no raining on the parade of our 2026 graduating classes. We had the distinct pleasure of capturing the Rotan Yellowhammer Class of 2026 ceremony. We couldn’t be more proud of everything our senior groups have accomplished this year. We wish you all the best, and can’t wait to see what’s next! Congratulations Class of 2026! 🎉🎊

(Full album of the Rotan ceremony will be up soon. Stay tuned.)

We want to inform everyone that this section of FM57 near CR110 has seen a definite increase of vehicle accidents during rain events. To be exact, 5 accidents with 3 accidents hitting power poles. Luckily all with minor injuries. We ask that you please slow down and don't drive with your cruise control on during the wet weather.
