🚨 NEW EPISODE DROPS TUESDAY 🚨

What if the feedback you hated hearing…

was exactly what you needed?

This week on Obscured Glory, Erik Milligan tackles something almost nobody enjoys:

Correction.

We all say we want to grow.

But what happens when growth requires hearing something about ourselves we don’t want to hear?

🔥 Why defensiveness can block growth
🔥 The difference between discernment and defensiveness
🔥 How to treat correction like data
🔥 Why every leader has blind spots
🔥 Three questions that can change how you receive feedback

One line from this episode says it all:

“You can win the argument and lose the insight.”

Not every criticism deserves your agreement.

But meaningful correction deserves your examination.

🚨 NEW EPISODE DROPS TUESDAY 🚨

What happens when the life you planned isn’t the life you get?

This week on Unpacking the Mess, Donna sits down with her longtime friend Patricia Muellen for one of our most honest conversations yet.

After more than a decade of trying to have children, Patricia eventually underwent a hysterectomy and had to begin processing something no one had ever told her:

You can live a full life even when motherhood doesn’t become part of your story.

And you are still whole.

This conversation goes there.

💔 Infertility and grief
❤️ Marriage through the difficult seasons
🩺 Women’s health and self-advocacy
🧠 Mental health and trauma
🚧 Learning to enforce boundaries
✨ Choosing yourself without apologizing
🔥 And yes… entering your “villain era”

It’s emotional.

It’s funny.

It’s unfiltered.

And it’s exactly why we created this show.

Because sometimes unpacking the mess means grieving the life you thought you would have so you can finally start living the one that’s right in front of you.

A pretty great way to start the morning. ☕️

Spent this morning at the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce Morning BOOST, hosted by Alliance Catholic Credit Union.

Coffee is always appreciated, but the real value of mornings like this is the conversation.

Meeting other business owners. Reconnecting with familiar faces. Learning what people are working on. Making introductions. And sometimes having a casual conversation that turns into something much bigger down the road.

As I continue growing PJT Ventures, I’m realizing more and more that business development isn’t always about making the perfect sales pitch.

Sometimes it’s simply about showing up, getting involved, building genuine relationships and becoming part of the community.

A big thank you to the Greater Farmington Area Chamber team and Alliance Catholic Credit Union for bringing everyone together this morning.

Coffee. Connections. Community.

That’s a pretty solid way to kick off the day.

🚨 NEW EPISODE DROPS WEDNESDAY 🚨

What if one of the biggest things holding students back is that teachers are doing too much of the work?

This week on The Multiliterate Mind, Dr. Liza Trejo and Marnina Falk Colman sit down with Dr. Brandee Mau for a powerful conversation about proficiency, productive struggle, student agency, and what it really takes to help language learners grow.

They explore:

🧠 Why struggle is part of learning
🗣️ Proficiency as the unifying goal
🌎 Heart, Hoop & Horizon
🍭 Why proficiency is like cotton candy
🤖 AI and the human lens it still needs
🎯 Why not every mistake needs to be corrected yet

One of the biggest questions from this episode:

Who is actually doing the work?

Because if students never get the chance to struggle, wrestle, and figure things out for themselves, we may be limiting the very growth we’re trying to create.

🚨 NEW EPISODE DROPS TUESDAY 🚨

What if money isn’t actually what you’re missing?

Maybe you’ve been telling yourself:

💰 If I just had more money…
🚪 If I could get the right opportunity…
🤝 If I could meet the right people…
📈 If my business would finally take off…

Then everything would change.

But here’s a harder question:

If the opportunity showed up tomorrow, would you have the wisdom to steward it?

This Wednesday on Obscured Glory, Erik Milligan challenges the way we think about success, resources, opportunity, and growth.

🔥 Why wisdom is a form of capital
🔥 Why getting more doesn’t mean you can keep more
🔥 How wisdom creates influence
🔥 Why more can magnify what’s already there
🔥 How to turn worry into action

And one question that could completely change the way you approach your next difficult decision:

What wisdom does this situation require, and how do I deploy it?

🎙️ New episode of Obscured Glory drops Wednesday.

Maybe your next level doesn’t begin with getting more.

Maybe it begins with growing.

🚨 NEW EPISODE IS LIVE 🚨

Years ago, they were students in a Spanish immersion classroom.

Today, they’re college students, future leaders, global travelers, and powerful advocates for multilingual education.

In this special episode of The Multiliterate Mind, Cameron Durr, Destiny Williams, and Kaylyn Dalton share how learning Spanish shaped their confidence, careers, academic success, and worldview.

From using Spanish in healthcare to studying abroad, learning Japanese, and discussing why AI can never replace authentic human connection, this conversation is full of insight, wisdom, and hope.

One quote says it all:

“Language is a skill set you should have in your own database.”

There’s something special about seeing a local business open its doors and officially become part of the community.

I had the opportunity to be at the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting for Tuffy Farmington Hills, celebrating their business and welcoming them to the Farmington area.

Events like this are a great reminder of what a Chamber can do at its best: bring business owners, community leaders, and neighbors together to support the people investing in our local communities.

Congratulations to the entire Tuffy Tire & Auto Service team on this milestone, and kudos to the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce for continuing to champion local business.

Here’s to a successful road ahead! ✂️🎉🚗

🚨 NEW EPISODE DROPS TUESDAY 🚨

Can you grieve someone before they’re actually gone?

This week on Unpacking the Mess, Donna sits down with her longtime friend Sheridan Merriweather for a raw conversation about losing her mother after years of navigating addiction, broken trust, difficult boundaries, and a relationship that was complicated long before her mother’s death.

They unpack the parts of grief we don’t always talk about.

💔 Loving someone you couldn’t save
🧳 Grieving the relationship you wished you had
🚧 Setting boundaries with a parent
❤️ Protecting your own children
🧠 Understanding the trauma behind addiction
🙏 Learning how to hold love and hurt at the same time

Because sometimes grief isn’t just mourning the person you lost.

It’s mourning everything you lost along the way.

🚨 NEW EPISODE DROPS TUESDAY 🚨

Are you actually making progress…

Or are you just staying busy?

In Tuesday’s episode of Obscured Glory, Erik Milligan uncovers one of the biggest threats to your purpose that most people never see coming:

Distraction.

📖 What Proverbs 7 teaches us about protecting our focus
🎯 Why every opportunity isn’t your opportunity
⏳ The hidden cost of staying busy
💡 Practical habits to guard your purpose every day

Sometimes the enemy doesn’t stop your calling…

He simply distracts you from it.

There is a growing difference between building a successful business and performing success for the internet.
In my latest article for LinkedIn, I explore why visibility is not the same as credibility, why being busy is not the same as being effective, and why some of the strongest businesses are being built quietly, far away from the spotlight.
You do not have to look successful to be successful.
You have to create something real.

There is a strange pressure in business today. You cannot simply build something valuable.
